Thread: Riddick Bowe- Inactive for 2 years. WHY?

Anyone know what is going on with this guy.

Maybe he's on a mission with the Marines.

Did you see his last fight?? I hope he never enters the ring again... But then again he's probably sitting around doing crack and eating Arbys somewhere... So who really cares.

He has nothing left....It was damn near impossible to get him licensed...Plus he was FAT!!!!!

I heard a rumor he could nbot pass the medical anywhere...Again it is just a rumor but not a far fetched one

Good. He is a fat slob and I always hated his attitude, but no need to see him get severely hurt more than he has been already. Doesn't surprise me at all either, he's practically obese these days and sounds like he has a mouth full of marbles.

If my memory serves me correctly ( and at times it doesnt) Mississippi was the only state willing to last time he made his comeback

Haha, kind of funny how that works huh.. He can't get a license in any other state, but Mississippi will give him one.. Makes you wonder what on earth is so different with their medical requirements.. Don't spose you know any details on why he would be allowed a license there but nowhere else? Boxing really needs a National commission, the medical's should be the same everywhere.

He had problems with medical clearance, because when he was on trial for kidnapping, he tried to claim that he didn't know what he was doing, because he suffered brain damage during his career.
Then when he got off on the charges, he turned around and tried to fight again. He tried to claim that his brain damage "went away."

Its a real shame what happened to Bowe (his own fault) and that we never got to see Lennox/Bowe in the pros. I wish he would have called it quits for good after the Golota fights, I'm a big fan of the guy but I don't care to see him in the ring again, its obvious that he just doesn't have the right mental attitude for boxing anymore.

He was slurring his words after the Zumbrum fight. Boxing needs to save 'BIG DADDY' from himself

Even if a fighter passes the med qualification it is ultimatly the the med board who decides...EG a guy can pass a catscan but in the scan it shows that too much more abuse will cause a problem...Is he cleared medically yes but they don't want to take the chance...

Thats why bigger boxing states are tougher EG NY,,Nevada,,California,,,Tehy don't need the money and a mishap like an injury to the fighter would be costly to the pocketbook...No one wants that problem...it could cause fights to be taken elsewhere...The smaller states just don't care they want the revenue and are willing to allow the borderline cases

Zumbrum got robbed in that fight. Bowe didnt even show flashes of himself from his golden years. Holyfield would beat his @ss today.
