That's pretty much a rhetorical question... Over training is more likely to happen when a fighter isn't in shape to close to a match and they have to cut a lot of weight or radically improve their coniditioning too quickly...
Oh, and I heard Floyd sleeps some of the time as well.
genetics diet and mostly - intensity...
Every video I have seen of Floyd on the bags he is working constantly and at a good pace... but never killing himself... I'm sure he has days were he goes all out but as long as your doing something different and not killing your self every day it's quite easy not to over train as long as you eat and rest right.
It's just one of things that the body gets used to....EG...Someone who constantly takes vitamins and supplements get sick easier than most people if they stop because the body is so used to the vitamins and supplements doing the job for them....So if your body is used to working out every day he constantly stays at his peak....
If he should stop and only train when it is time to prepare for a fight he will have a harder time getting in shape
Hidden Content IN CASE THEY ALL FORGOT WHAT REAL HEAVYWEIGHT POWER WAS!!!
he stays in shape all the time. so when it come time to prepare for a fight he doesn't have to spend alot of time cutting weight. his body doesn't go through dramatic changes like some fighter because he doesn't gain 80lbs between fights. this way he can focus more on his boxing skill when preparing for a fight. where as other guys are running 6 miles a day in the desert with a trashbag on trying to lose weight in a quick fashion.Originally Posted by ThePlatinumBoy
u made ur point in the title ,he stays consistent ,he is always training so he cant over train, over training is when ur out of shape and try to get in great shape in 2 months
He is always in good condition between fight so when a fight nears, he doesnt need to shed alot of weight. It also is becauseas he is now a welter and a soon-to-be Junior Middle, he never really needs to drop to much weight as he is fighting over his natural fighting weight
That's just about it.Originally Posted by Sugar_Shaw
Look at guys who have, in the past "overtrained"
Kirk Johnson is one that comes to mind....his nickname is Bubba but it should be Bitch Tits! You're telling me a guy like that can come in....in WORSE SHAPE when he starts training camp and work himself into the ability to climb in the ring without losing his breath in 6 weeks or so without some ill effects?
You have to keep in decent shape between fights if you don't want to overtrain
