Not bad opponent for Reid this guy holds wins over Eric Lucas and Beyer and lost close decision to Woodhall if Reid can win this it will give him more confidence.
Cattley is a good fighter though and has 2 recent bouts, id have liked to see Reid take at least 1 more soft type opponent just to sharpen up a bit
How good is Brinkley and how much stock can we put in Reids win over him
If Reids hungry enough he will beat Catley
Yeah I was thinking some more about it and Reid is a good boxer, he did just complete 8 rounds with a decent enough comeback opponent for his stage of career and Cattley got hurt bad a couple of times in his last fight before prevailing by ko.
I like Reid and want to see him do well, id have just liked to have seen him get some more rounds in before any other fights.
Hes a fighter that needs his reflexes, being a counter puncher
Robin seems to be mentaly rejuvinated after his apearance on the contender and being nominated to fight another name.
I find a Reid Froch fight similar to Reid Magee, Brian was also a touted unbeaten prospect but Reid dropped him 4 times while he was rusty

Brinkley sux! Cannot handle shots to the body. Lost to some stiff fron RI by tko some time ago. Do not judge Robin off of Brinkley.Originally Posted by ross
I have just read on boxing scene that Glen Catley has pulled out of the eliminater so the BBB of C has nominated Reid as challenger for the British super middle title by no later than the end of October.
This is bad news in my eyes for Reid as he deffinitly needed a competetive match to sharpen up, I was basing his chances against Froch on his winning the eliminator now im not so confident for him, unless warren does him a favour and gives him some warm up action on a couple of undercards.
Thing is we've been hearing thesame old shit from
Robin Reid for the last 5 years
about how 'he's back'' and who he's calling out .
Don't mean shit , his lack of discipline has cost him throughout and he's let himself down with his approach to training.
Well Reid has over 5 months to train and think about this fight, while Carl is still on crutches after his leg surgery.
How much is that operation going to hamper his training for the fight and how much is the lack of rounds going to hurt him, less than 2 rounds 7 months before this fight and 11 months since he had a competetive match
Theres a good thread going on this in the UK boxing page, check it out:
