I agree fully, i think calzaghe is one of the best in the world pound 4 pound, but he is never going to prove it by fighting the likes of peter manfredo, or saikio bika. He needs the big fights the kessler fight and the froch fight to prove he is the best.

hell yeah he should take the fight. although the way you've written the price on the topic title sugests that its $5 because you've used full stops instead of coma's so if i was calzaghe i wouldnt take the fight for five dollars.
kess is his biggest threat at the moment and if he doesnt fight him it will always be said that calzaghe avoided him even if that is not the case.

At this moment, the fight is between pale and Warren promoters...they each want the rights for the TV and the gate shares...because either in Danemark or Wales, it's going to be over 30,000 persons.

note : If I was Calzaghe I would have preferred Taylor or hopkins, these 2 names would have a much bigger impact on the US.

    damn right he should

we need a big good fight out of him and kessler is the man he needs to prove he is the best smw.

hopefully kessler beats him if the fight happens though

Of course...i heard ray leonard comparing Calzaghe to hagler, hearns and himself the other day and it sickened me, how can you compare those all-time legends to a fighter who has no big names on his record (ok Lacy was a highly thought of fighter but he is no Hopkins or Jones, is he ?) and has yet to prove that he is the best fighter undisputedly in a division which is currently one of the weakest in boxing. its time joe proved that he is the best SMW or get emberrased.......only time will tell.

This is a stupid poll considering half of the total number of all saddo posts are about Joe not fighting worthwhile opponents.

Sad click yourself. I looked at it. I was just hoping that someone would see that the overwhelming majority of posters want jOE to fight a legit person. It is a war between greedy promoters at this point.

YEAH BUT THE POINT OF A FORUM IS TO DISCUSS THINGS WITH FELLOW ENTHUSIASTS, IN THIS CASE BOXING. SURELY ONE MORE TOPIC WILL LEAD TO FURTHER DISCUSSION AND SHARING OF OPINIONS, WHICH CAN ONLY BE A GOOD THING

Fair point but you don't have to shout.

Well, Calzaghe would have to cross the pond to fight Hopkins. Hopkins is a living legend and has fought the BEST out there. Joe hasn't nearly scratched the surface.
He wouldn't fight Bernard, because Hopkins would school him. He would be completely out of his comfort zone with one of the best technical masters to ever grace the ring.
