Default Looks like Joe will be fighting yet another bum in July.

    Joe Calzaghe update!
The WBO is reportedly putting the heat on unbeaten super middleweight champion Joe Calzage to face top challenger, unbeaten Dennis Inkin (30-0, 23 KOs). "The WBO want Joe to fight a mandatory challenger and Inkin tops their list," Calzaghe's promoter Frank Warren told IC Wales. "The WBO wants Joe to fight in July. Joe wants to fight in July too but not against a nobody like Inkin. Joe only wants big box office fighters who will interest American TV. People will say 'Denis who?' We need to find a big name quick because the WBO are putting the pressure on."

This is becoming a joke he beats Lacy and makes a huge statement to the boxing world especially in the States, and here we are 18 months later and he has fought Bika Manfredo and looks like the world class Inkin!!!! Way to go Joe and Frank keep padding that record. Frank says we need to find a big name quick, maybe Frank needs to stop being a jerk with crappy clauses in his contract and have confidence in his fighter, but he knows Joe can get 35000 fighting anyone so deep down he dont really give a shit about Joes legacy and Joe is more intrested in $$$$.

Unfortunatly Joe will not vacate this crappy belt becasue he is so close to breaking the record of most defences ( against who you may ask??) But he should of give this belt up years ago and gone chasing the big boys, but no hes happy defending his belt.

But like i said after the Lacy fight i have real doubts Joe will ever get in the ring again against an elite fighter, think about it, he tends to pull out with his hand when the opponent aint exactly a walkover I.e Johnson and Lacy until Warren basically said pull out here Joe your careers over. he has stated that he hasnt sparred much because of the hands against the likes of Manfredo and Bika, but you cant cut corners like that agaisnt the Kesslers and Hopkins of this world which for me spells danger, if Joes breaking his hand after throwing say 50 punches against Manfredo do you really think them hands will hold up after a few hundred rounds of sparring?? I have my doubts.

Yea you just know hes moving in on Joe Louis's record , Louis had the BUM OF THE MONTH CLUB ,
Calzaghe has had the BUM OF THE DECADE CLUB !!!!!!!!!!!
If Joe didnt wanna fight his mandatory then do wot all top fighter do like PACMAN , take a big name fight without a belt , i mean the WBO is a joke anyway , i dont wanna here him bleet about is my mandatory he can bin the title and look for BIG fights , but he wont he and Warren will continue to sleep with the WBO , untill alas he beats The Brown Bombers record and that will be a sad day .

I know this is crappy to say to all the Joe fans..but if you really want to see Joe step up and fight someone of merit, to earn himself the respect a champion with 20 defenses should have. You gotta boycott his fight if it goes down with Inkin, if he can sell out 35000 seat place fighting Manfredo....why is he gonna mess with that?Hopkins 19 defense had way better names on it....some may have been smaller but they were still good.Look at Hopkins, he comes back and whos he fighting..Winky, now thats steppin up.

IMO, I wouldn't call Inkin a "bum" the kids beat some prominent opponents (BY ANY MEANS AM I TRYING TO JUSTIFY Joe HERE)
I'm just speaking on the labeling Inkin as bum.

He ain't hes fought better opposition then Froch & Bute.

Do I think it's the right fight for Joe?
No, he will take a lot of heat for it.

Sh*t! like this makes me dislike the sport sometimes BUT then I turn to my lower weight classes and see my small guys fighting the sh*t out of eachother and it picks me right up.

I dont know much about Inkin, but his record is about as questionable as Joe's. Mario Veit was the only name I noticed, most were Russian guys.He 30-0..so we'll see who is the bigger fake in this fight?

Anyone really surprised by this? Kessler - Joe is never happening. Just the way Warren is talking, it's never happening.

Looks like Frank Warren and Palle are negotiating now :

Serious talk going on. Warren seem to offer Palle 5 million dollars now to fight in Wales in September.
