Default How would you advise Mayweather and DLH??

I think this one comes down to the basic difference between biggest guy, and big guy. Each must fight to his own strengths - I don't see any other way to ensure victory.

PBF - Use your lightning speed to dart in and out of range constantly for first quarter, deliberately sacrificing these three rounds, but throwing a token jab every few seconds to avoid DQ, and also to conserve bone strength. During this time, concentrate on making DLH MISS - not simply dodging his punches, but actually provoke him into increasing his workrate at the expense of accuracy, so as to slow him down later. Use any and all opportunities to counter, which should increase in frequency as the fight progresses and as he wears down. Jabslip at all times.

DLH - Walk him down, take his best shots and trade from the opening bell. Though he's fast, no human can walk backwards as fast as you can walk forwards. Impose your size/strength advantage as early as possible so as to land a bomb with "shock and awe", psychologically jolting him out of whatever gameplan he had.

    Your suggestions, gents??

ODH- Keep your guard high, cut off the ring, put him in the corner, when you punch to the head aim at his chest or shoulder, he will duck into one, and fire away at his body. Lean on him when you tie up, and if he tries that elbow or forearm crap, rough him up real good, get a warning from the ref. Shove him and let him know it's on baby........

PBF- Stick and move, don't trade punches, go to the body often, count on going 12, and try to wear him down to come on strong after 8.... And talk alot.... Get him mad and make him chase you....

PBF - Right hand leads all night, baby. Everyone knows Oscar's money punch will be his left hook. make him hesitant to unload with that shot. Right hand leads all night will make him think twice about dropping that left hand guard. And it's Floyd's best shot. Make the fight look like my sig, Floyd!

ODLH - Keep your guard high. Floyd's gonna naturally attack to the body a lot. He won't be able to resist the large target Oscar's body is. Floyd drops his guard whenever he jabs to the body. Smack! Left hook counter time. Don't make the fight look like my sig.

Floyd - quick pace, in and out, side to side, use your speed, and keep moving....keep punching too ( Floyd has a tendency to stop throwing combos) when you get on the inside do your work then tie up.

Oscar - muscle up on the inside, use your length when Floyd runs, stick the jab watch for the time to use the right lead, and against the ropes go George Foreman on his ass, rare back and let 'er rip! Use the left hook to counter the uppercut.

Floyd: Counter, Move and don't get hit with that left hook. Jab, Jab, Jab, keep him away from you and make him fight your fight. Don't let him bully you and pressure you into doing what he wants you to do.
Frustrate and annoy , get him into the later rounds and come home strong, he is not a good finisher.

Oscar: Be in his face all night, pressure, pressure, pressure. Push him around a little, be within range at all times and unload that left hook and see if he can take it. Don't waste your punches, he won't as he wants you in the later rounds, he can't hurt you but you can hurt him. Get in close and try some Body shots early.
Do not fall for any taunting and don't get angry with him, be focused and take him out with accurate hard punches.

I'd tell Oscar to act weary from rounds 1-4........really confuse Floyd and act like you fear him.....then all of a sudden come round 4 explode.......if Oscar catches him flush he will get Floyd in trouble I'm sure of that. Once oscar has a guy wobbled he is sure to finish him.

Floyd:Use your speed, reflexes and your smartness, it's your best weapon. Use your brain, it controls the lot.

I would make a fucking crap trainer lol!

This is my type of topic I'm just going to do Oscar right now because, well he is the more intriguing fighter in this one.

Oscar - I would work real hard with double and triple jab, it's something he's lacked in the recent and if he really wants to be the "pressure" fighter, we know he has a fast jab he needs to move forward with it and double and triple it up instead of throwing it flatfooted one at a time.

However, that's just if he presses the fight like he says he does. I am more of a fan of De La Hoya keeping distance with the jab, and laying traps to try to time Mayweather coming to the inside. And honestly, I think this is the route he takes. Mayweather is going to be in and out all night, and if De La Hoya can handle that speed (which is why he sparred Calderon) and time him and hit Floyd with a left hook moving in or out, that could really shift the fight.

Also, let his hands go in combinations when he has Floyd flatfooted. And Floyd does get flatfooted. Let the hands go, particulary the straight right hand after the left hook. Or vice versa. That is the hardest combination to slip. A long time ago the right hand was De La Hoya's best weapon, and the left hook was very wild and almost always led with jab. Now that's not the case but who knows, maybe Freddie Roach will bring that guy back.

Just a few things I think Oscar should do.
