Default Marco A. Barrera: The Next Promotional Battle?

Schaefer told Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today in an overseas telephone conversation that Barrera had denied claims by Arum that he had left Oscar De La Hoya’s promotional outfit and was on his own and wanted a rematch with Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao.

Schaefer alleged that Arum was “once again trying to steal one of our fighters just like he did with Pacquiao.”

Arum said on arrival in Manila Thursday morning that Barrera “wants to fight Pacquiao and he says he’s a free agent.”

Why not with Marquez that would be a great fight. He must want Pacman who might be tuffer now than last time they met! Watch out what you ask for Marco!

The fights can be made with either Marquez or Pacman this year . Personally i'd prefer to seee the Pac fight as I think the JMM fight would be pretty similar and therefore pointless . But as this is Barreras year , in his last fight he deserves the chance to erase the memory of Nov 03 .

I agree this fight could go either way I like both these fighters they have great styles. I still see Barrera as I always have he is a techniction in the ring he is one of my favorites and always will be. There are a lot at 126lbs right now alot of talent. But the Best still seem to be the older vets no doubt!
