Default VALUEV TO RETURN IN FALL, RANKED #1 BY WBA

    http://www.fightnews.com/fightnews_2...VWTRbptHm.html
Seven-foot former WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev is expected back in the ring by fall. "His next fight is planned for September or October," says Sauerland Event General Manager Chris Meyer. The "Russian Giant" could be on the fast track to another title shot as the WBA has ranked him #1 in their latest rankings. "We're glad that the WBA continues to recognize the qualities of Nikolai Valuev," stated Meyer. "The fight against Ruslan Chagaev in April was very even. Both could have been in front at the end."

....well he has his loss, now he can go do whatever the fuck he wants to. He's never going to fight anyone good.

I think he deserves to be ranked near the top becacaue, like him or not, hes proven that he can compete at this level. Chagaev is no chump and that was a very close fight that could have gone either way. The thing that I like about Valuev is that unlike almost all of the other heavyweights, he is conststant. He is beatable but he is a tough guy to beat. I look foward to seeing him back in the ring.

Wow, I don't agree with that at all.. I thought he got schooled but he did get a few good shots in. There's no way he would even be able to compete with the likes of Klitschko, but I still find myself wanting to see such a bout.. I guess it's of that sideshow aspect of it: to see a giant fall in an exciting finale.

I'm sure Don King had something to do with the fact that Valuev is #1. I can understand top 10 but #1 is a bit too much.

I dont remember him getting schooled, but we really dont know if he could compete with Wlad till hes in the ring with him. Would make for an intetresting fight cause neither guy fought another guy like either one of them........... I probably could have made that less confusing

I think that Chagaev took full advantage of the weakness of Valuev.
Slippery and almost the whole fight in motion from a southpaw stance.
Despite the number of fights Valuev had on his resume he was basicly a novice

Valuev did not win more then 2 rounds against Chagaev, and he doesn't have a single impressive victory.

I'm not sold on this guy at all, but I'm glad he might get a shot at one of the other champs. Hopefully Briggs, Peter, or Vlad. I just want to see if one of the boys can K him TFO!

Why wouldn't he be ranked #1 he is the former champ and that is the only fight he lost....Not that I put stock into his record but point still stands

I honestly think Valuev would be a great comeback fight for Vitali, that would be awesome.
