The Light heavyweight division has been forever over looked and is still bieng over looked..
But looking deeper into the full picture as of right now.. I can see it looking up..
As of Roy Jones' lightheavyweight reign there was really no competition for roy.. All his defences came against good top ten contenders but none were presumed to be challenging..You could have looked in the top ten rankings and been unimpressed with most of the competition..
But looking at it now.. Its started to fill out with quality
As of now Bernard stands on top of the division and assuming he doesnt loose in a large fashion anytime soon..I cant see him leaving immediately..
There's Erdei a reigning undefeated champ..
Clinton woods a veteran champion willing to fight the big names..
We have former champions like Tarver, Johnson ( Who i thought looked good last night), Jones jr who im sure is willing to make some big fights in the hope of regaining some legacy he may have lost..
Theres great young fighters Like bad chad dawson, Ademek may have lost to johnson but he too is a good fighter and has every chance coming back and winning another title, Theres that diaconu fellow who looks a good young prospect and has a great style and wallop on him..
Its like a resurgence of new talent to begin mixing with the old veterans and making great prospects for future fights and unification..
Frankly i would like to see Hopkins go for a legitimate light heavyweight world title..
Chad dawson vs Bhop is well watchable in my opinion..
Even if winky is to beat hopkins.. Would he then drop from this Technically lightheavyweight catchweight to 168 and take over there? Or would he be willing to take his immaculate craft to light heavyweight and make a go at becoming world champion there?
Tarver has a tune up.. I would love to see Johnson vs Tarver the rubber match just to decide who is still good and who is finished..
Frankly i'd like to see Roy jones vs anybody..Especially i would like him to swallow his pride and get it on with bernard again hopefully for a legitimate 175 title
And frankly.. I'd like to see him give it another shot against Johnson.. If roy jones can beat him..Then he stands a chance of getting back in the game..If not..Then maybe its not worth trying for that last big one..
Theres alot to be done if the fighters are ready and willing..
Who do you want to match up and what happens with this new light heavyweight division?
And who comes out on top?
Peace
