Thanks mate cc and Spinks definetly deserves 2nd fight even though its not fan friendly still would sort out the controversy but i think Taylor should fight Pavlik first though or maybe Spinks and Miranda can fight.Originally Posted by GAME

Anybody interested in a grudge match w/spinks and judah he if he beats cotto?
Most bad government has grown out of too much government. Thomas Jefferson
I put it this way.......
Taylor did NOT beat Spinks...and Spinks did NOT beat Taylor.....
Jermain did justy enough to keep his title and Spinks did just under enough to not claim it...
That was a classic you have to BEAT the champion fight.....
If they were fighting for Corey's 154lb title instaed of Taylor's 160 Corey would have gotten the nod....
you have to beat the champion to take the belt.....Emmanuel Steward was not happy with Taylor's performance last night and rightfully so

I had Taylor winning 7-5. I had Spinks winning by a couple early but Taylor closing the gap and winning most of the late rounds. It was nice to see Manny yelling at Taylor to fight in the final rounds. Too bad he has stopped listening.
Everyone talks about how horrible it is when one guy moves alot and is percieved as running, the answer isn't smaller rings or smaller gloves but better cutting off of the ring and pressure by the fighter that "wants to make the fight." If you can't control the boxer just watch some good Jeff Fenech fights on how to cut off the ring and apply pressure, but don't bitch because you are lazy and the other guy doesn't want to fall into your game plan or lack of one.
Very well said. Totally agree 100%.Originally Posted by boozeboxer

Unfortunatly throwing quick flurries that arent landing, and then legging it,isnt going to win you the title
Though I agree that fight was like watching paint peel,I have to begrudgingly give it to Taylor

Is there some way to have them both lose..that fight was garbage..Taylor was scared of Spinks...
I thought Spinks won that fight. Poor a bout as it was. The styles completely clashed, and Taylor can't seem to fight southpaws.
No one has mentioned the reactions at the end of the fight. Steward walked out of the corner in disgust 15 secs before the final round and after the final bell Spinks corner were extactic because they'd pulled off their gameplan and Taylor looked like a beaten man. He even prayed in the corner hoping for a helping hand from up above.
Also, I can't belive one judge had Cory winning by 6 points, and another had Taylor by 6. That seemd a bit ludicrous to me. The rounds were too close!
I'm gutted for Spinks, Taylor's post fight interview was utter crap. Why would Spink's trade with Taylor when he's a blown up Welterweight. He boxed the right fight. It was up to Taylor too use his size and walk Spinks down. He seemed scared to take a punch of a guy whose not exactly a puncher at Welter never mind Middleweight.
Finally, I've nothing but admiration for a guy like Spinks, at least he's prepared to take risky fights in his career. He's got ambition whereas Taylor is just staying in boxing to boost his bank account. Hopefully Spinks will continue to rule at Light-Middle!
The best bit was the Spinks ring walk .
