He lost to Hopkins & Wright...you know that.
Sure he's fought 3 southpaws in a row...& he's been handed victories over them all...he's not earned a single one.

You would too if you were pretty much guaranteed a win as long as you stayed on your gotdam feet.
Taylor's borderline disgraceful & you know it. He stalls more than most 1980 Fords do.
I thought Taylor won the first Hopkins fight and Hopkins won the second. And I'd like to know where all the animosity and personal attacks on Taylor are coming from
I was a huge fan of Taylor's...seriously. HUGE!
Replay the Hopkins fight...the first one. Hopkins took his normal approach...mapped out Taylor & then got on him in the 7th & from the 8th to the 12th he rode Taylor hard.
Hopkins outlanded Taylor & landed the more effective shots.
Taylor won the second fight hands down...but not the first. HBO had the posters New Sherriff in Town printed up days before that fight was over. HBO's honey pot coulda been golden if he hadn't fallen prey to his own hype.
I just don't like what Taylor's become. If you backed a fighter & put all your hopes & prayers into him like I did Taylor...you'd maybe understand. Since you wanted to know where all the animosity and personal attacks on Taylor are coming from...that's why I have such a large amount of distaste for him.
He's squandering his talent & potential & that's a fact.
As the middleweight champion of the world...he should act like it...or atleast try. I wanted to shut the fight down after the 4th round last night...that's unheard of from me.
Sorry Wacko, but I just see the two Taylor-Hopkins fights differently than you. And I think maybe it's not Taylor that's squandering away talent, but you who falsely believed he had talent he never had to begin with. I've seen virtually Taylor's entire career, and before the first Hopkins fight, saw nothing that lead me to believe he'd be able to beat Bernard. He's not great in a single area, just good. He also lacks power, people confuse power with strength, he has strength, but he has no power, only enough to gain his opponents respect, he will NEVER be a threat to take anyone out with a single punch, and furthermore, I wouldn't be surprised if he goes the rest of his career without scoring a knockout. He fights ugly, but he is effective in that he won't allow anyone (at least at 160 or lower) to CONVINCINGLY beat him. Even if you thought he lost to Wright and Hopkins, I hope you'd at least have enough sense to understand how 2 of 3 judges might honestly have seen it differently.
While you & I very rarely disagree...WE REALLY REALLY DO HERE.
Taylor's a great young fighter with MUCH talent that he's just not using. You don't fight all the fighters that he fought & remain undefeated with the talent & abilities that he has.
Also...you don't fight Wright & Hopkins & get through the matches without being a hell of a talented fighter. Honestly...I am amazed that you even stated that.
What amazes me more is this one: "Even if you thought he lost to Wright and Hopkins, I hope you'd at least have enough sense to understand how 2 of 3 judges might honestly have seen it differently."
Apparently I don't have sense...nor do I understand it...because the above statement totally made NO SENSE.
Judges MIGHT see it differently because they either are informed which fighter is the HONEY POT for whom they are getting paid to score & also...many judges don't even know how to add up a card.
In the end...even though I don't agree with the decisions...but in Taylor's defense...again, you don't fight Wright & Hopkins & get through the matches without being a hell of a talented fighter. Taylor just needs to get back to being who he was a few years ago.
Believe in yourself & get your confidence & old trainer back.
