I know there is a lot of Taylor hating on this board now but those who are saying Spinks should have won are taking it too far imo.

Boxingtalk in particlular were most scathing about those who felt Spinks deserved anything from the fight, see here

    http://www.boxingtalk.com/pag/article12272.html

and fightnews also recognised that Taylor deserved to win.

I think the hate is clouding people's judgement a little too much, yes it was a stinking performance from JT but he did do enough to win.

this is what I think. Why are people saying Spinks won? If this was a fight where it was close I could see it, but this was not close.

Yar. I didn't see this "fight" as close either. Spinks wasn't interested in making it a fight. I had Taylor winning an ugly, but reletively lopsided fight. Then again, I had ODLH winning for the same reasons two weeks ago...in a far closer track meet.

HEY!!!! You missed the editors NOTE!!!!

Editors Note: George Kimball scored the bout 118-110 for Taylor, Brad Cooney scored the bout 117-111 Spinks, G. Leon scored it 115-113 Spinks.

Spinks is crazy if he thought he was gonna win a close fight, he really didnt do enough to take a championship. You have to take it not steal it. He looked like he was just trying to get by most of the rounds with just being close. I dont know, does he think people are scoring those weak jabs he flicks out? I wonder what would happen in a Spinks Vs. Mayweather fight? Mayweather might have to actually take a step forward!!!

Taylor is a bigger risk. And those jabs of Spinks were landing more then anything Taylor threw.

You can downplay Spinks all you want, but Taylor did even less and couldnt land anything.

    Spinks won that fight.

Yeah Spinks did nothing and Taylor did very little.

Again and never again will I say 500+ thrown 80+ landed for Corky.

What the hell happened to 410 odd punches? I thought Taylor was chasing him around all night? If someone can explain to me where those punches went I will call Spinks the winner.
