    Default Lacy's return

I for one have never waivered in being a Lacy fan... I saw what happened with Joe as a major setback( But I digress )

I can't wait for his return

    What I expect:

He knows what people are saying about him. He will be out to prove what he was unable to last fight... That he is still the destroyer he once showed; and that he was not broken by Calzaghe; That he's a little smarter; a little wiser....

    He's coming!!!

Fair play to Lacy for taking the Calzaghe fight but in my view he was too inexperienced for that fight. I think Joe had had more than double the fights Lacy had had. Also he should have been pulled out. He took too much punishment and hope any damage is not permanent.

His last fight against Tsypko showed that maybe he has not got all his confidence back yet or that he just can not handle southpaws.

    Anyway, good luck Lacy

p.s. I'll try not to use so maany had's in one sentence. jesus

Either that or that he's just not very good at fighting with a broken shoulder

He beat the hell out of Typsko the first time they fought, Typsko got saved by a headbutt. He was well on his way to winning again before he tore his rotator cuff.

The only time he had problems with a southpaw was for the first couple of rounds against Vanderpool.

I got alot of respect for jeff and can't wait to see him get back in the ring - i still think he should do everything he can to get freddy to train him though.

Jeff is actually my favorite fighter and I'v been following him since he 1st got started, and although Dan has done a good job, I just think Jeff has glaring holes in his game and could benefit from a more defenseive minded trainer... Jeff is humble, explosive and has a heart the size of all outdoors to go with his granite chin.. We really couldnt tell how much Jeff improved from the Calzaghe fight since he F'ed up his shoulder around the 3rd round, the 1st 2 rounds Lacy was owning Tyspko.....

I'd love to see Lacy and Jermain Taylor fight. Although I think Taylor would get his head ripped off in the latter rounds.

Totally agree, that fight was only close when Jeff injured his shoulder, for those first 2 rounds,he looked really good. I really like Lacy, a really good figher who made the wrong choice, business wise and strategically by fighting JC. He should not have fought abroad, the hours etc and JC just is that dam good, although no one knew that at the time! Jeff would do well against most others though.

I'd love to see Lacy Kessler/Mundine!!!

Personally...I think he had the tools to beat Calzaghe. The fight went the way I expected it to in the early going and I was trumping Lacy KO BIG TIME. He got Calzaghe squared up in front of him on the inside. Most people were saying Calzaghe would give him a boxing lesson, but no, Calzaghe likes to engage on the inside and that's what he did. I think he had Joe where he wanted him but Lacy wasn't there that night for whatever reason.

Lacy is still a top fighter imo, and I think after 1 more fight, he would be well served to challenge for the top again. I would love to see him move Kessler backwards. That's the one thing we don't know about Kessler, if he fights any good on the back foot. From what he's showed so far, not really. But he could of improved and Andrade didn't back him up. Calzaghe or Lacy would.

Plus, after all of Palle's two faced shit talking, I would love to see that fight.

What did Team Palle say Amat?

Pushing Kessler backwards is quite hard,he used some excllent lateral movement v Andrade and his defensive skills were really impressive in that fight. Librado landed so few punches despite throwing so many!

As for Jeff coming back,I think he can too but he has lots of holes defensively. He needs to use the jab more and he needs to work on the combinations. I think he does have the tools to trouble JC but not to beat him,no way, Even on the inside,JC hands are just too fast for him.

Fair play. Did not realise that he knackered his rotator cuff against Tsypo. However I must disagree with the comment "the only time he had trouble agsinst a southpaw was the first couple of rounds against Vanderpool".

I think he had a bit of trouble against Joe Calzaghe.

As a Lacy fan I've pretty muched blocked the entire month of March 2006 out of my memory.
