Not really,it how you lose, and how you respond to losing
Hopkins lost to Jones got right back on his horse, and made himself a legend
Jones recently lost and responded by more losing

This is a good point mate alot of the british public loved Naz thought he was a great british fighter big KO wins against good fighters then he has a bad night against Barrera and then everything he did before is forgotten. If you mention him now he was overrated or just simply were'nt that good yet Trinidad did a similar thing lost in a big fight had a fight then retired but he's still a god.I could go on all day but im not going to.

Lacy is injured. RJJ and Gatti have lost consistently, and both have fights this month.

Still, I understand what you are saying once the names are removed. Say we never saw Valuev again for instance.

Again its how you respond to it,and how you lose
Ali wasnt undefeated,Lewis came back from bad losses, the Klitschskos find a way to avenge losses, hell Tyson made himself a force in the division again after the DOuglas loss, even if it was really a bit of a mirage

In all honesty I dont feel Tyson got exposed against DOuglas,he was fighting a notoriously lazy training boxer who decided to show up in the best shape of his career, and Tysons corner was a mess
It was the Holyfield fights that exposed Tyson

Watch his fights from the first-buster douglas. You'll see that even by the time tyosn got to buster douglas, he was in the decline.

Right. Even when we did see it, we pretended we didn't cause he was winning.

Thats true. In retrospect you can see it, but as it happened in real time it probably took the holyfield fight to show he wasn't the same guy.

A lot of people WANTED Tyson to still be good, because as much as everyone flipped after the ear incident,he was good for the sport if for no reason other then people hated him.It generated intrest, and passion in the sport

No, but everyone flocks to the undefeated fighters...even if they havent beat anyone. Seems like once you get that first loss you will see who your true fans are, they are the ones that dont write you off immediately. Fight fans can be fickle just like any sport.

The good thing about boxing is that the comeback is almost as easy to sell as an unbeaten fighter.
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!
