Thread: Chagaev-Sultan Ibragimov

I just think Chagaev is going to blast Sultan Ibragimov out of the water. I think he can take a shot better, he can give a shot just as good and if he (well either one really) wins handily a matchup vs Wladimir Klitschko would be HUGE.

They both suck, but Sultan sucks more.

I wouldnt say they suck. Sultan seems pretty seasoned and Ruslan is defo tough and knows what to do to win a fight.

I agree that Ruslan is probably the man of the two. He's fought bigger and better guys more often.

I saw then both fight at the Sydney olympics. Ruslan looked ordinary and didn't win a medal. Sultan got silver (lost to Felix Savo).
I think Ruslan has come on more and I tip him to win a decision 116-112.

I feel I owe Chagaev my support look at his last four fights

he's beat Valuev, Ruiz, Sprott and Virchis

I cannot thank him enough for eliminating Ruiz's chance of getting another title shot or for ending

I agree, Plus Chagaev seems to be the heavyweight that wants to fight everybody.
I still not sure about Ibragimov, just can't forget the Ray Austin draw.

I think Chagaev will win a comfortable decision but I don't see any fireworks in this one. It's going to a tedius 12 round affair with little action and the farmer looking slow and inept.

Chagaev to win but they still both pretty much suck balls imo.

I'll be gutted if Sultan wins. It'll destroy my faith in boxing. I feel Chagaev unifying will mean a decent fight for Wlad. Chagaev is decent and can really box. Sultan is just horrible to watch and I don't see him lasting against Wlad.

I am not sure if I am hating but I just can't forget Ray Austin coming back and damn near KOing Sultan....I think Chagaev can fight a full 12 with anybody who's not a Klitschko.

I think either way this fight ends (as long as there is a winner and a loser) the winner will have no choice but to fight Wladimir because the people and the $$$$ are behind him

I'm assuming sal is the only vote for Sultan. I'm picking Chagaev, he's fought the "better" opposition and did more favors for the sport.

I think Sultan Ibragimov will win by points.

That was the olympics, but overall Ruslan was by far the better amatuer, and didn't he defeat Savon for a world championship?

Either way, who ever you favor in this one, both these guys deserve praise for doing what they are doing, unifying. Something Klitschko, Maskaev, Valuev and several others were afraid to do.
