Default Maccarinelli v Braithwaite ((contains result))

One of the best fights of the Year, Maccarinelli boxed brilliantly, defensively spot on, his jab was unstoppable, very much like Lennox Lewis, and a 6foot 3 he could even step up to heavy someday, nobody on ITV mentioned his ability to take body shots, Braithwaight hammered in so very heavy body shots the Enzo took and shook off.
Braithwaight had great movement, stamina, and shot resistance, took Enzo’s best shots and still come forward, Enzo almost throw it away in the last round ignoring his corner and went for a big finish, one of the best and most improved boxers we have in Britain

Hate to say it but Wank Warren put on a good show

I know what you mean mate, Enzo showed some proper world title potential tonight, earning the WBO cruiserweight title, which he got against rather lesser opposition when Johnny Nelson decided to retire instead of facing him (or retiring injured, depending on who you believe).

I agree with what you said about the body shots, Braithewaite showed a fair bit delivering as he did, however some of Enzo's left hooks to the body were phenomenal. I really hope we get an unification against Steve Cunningham on the card of Calzaghe v Kessler.

He didn't look that great imo the other guy didn't really fight and was too defensive he landed few good shots here and there but didn't really come to fight and was backing off most the time.

Not sure if awesome is the right word but Enzo was well organised in there tonight. Stiff jab, great body punching particularly later on in the fight. I agree with ICB in part. Braithwaite was there to tough it out and maybe spring a surprise. He never did anything that said Im going for this all night.

Braithwaite was Koed in his fight before Enzo fought him so lets not get carried away.
he looked a bit shot to me .

I thought it was a disciplined and thoroughly professionally performance from Enzo. Thos body shots are a thing of beauty...how Big Truck took them I don't know

Good card overall. Franks always been able to make these fights...just chosen not to...

I was at the show yesterday and the action was great. The shots Enzo was throwing were even better in the flesh. They landed with authority.

However lets not get carried away. Don't know what it looked like on TV but he was rocked once or twice.

Also the arena was barely half full. They should have had the show in Swansea where he is from or on a Calzaghe undercard.

Interesting it was only half full.

I was quite surprised it was only half full but I was there to see it with my own eyes. Maybe they should get him fighting in Swansea where he is from. If it were not for Alex Arthurs fans it would have been even more empty.

Fight in his home town would be a start. When I interviewed him a while back, he said that he would love to fight at the Liberty Stadium for an unification, and that 20,000 people from Swansea would make the crowd for calzaghe v manfredo sound like a mousefart. (I'm paraphrasing, btw.) Enzo's name's down for the bill in Cardiff next though, so maybe in the spring.

I thought it was a very disciplined and professional fight. He produced some great body shots. It was a great fight to watch.

The Calzaghe - Kessler card could be a classic if the Enzo and Cunningham unification comes off. My guess is they will have a Khan fight on there and we could have ourselves a great card !!!

a fight between haye and Maccarinelli would be awesome here in the UK. not sure about how big it'll be abroad. two huge punchers.

i think both would get mouled by samuel peter but at cruiser they kick a$$.
