If it weren't for the HW division (which might be on the turn around now), this might just be the best fall/winter in the history of boxing. We've already had a great first half but I can't envision a better lineup of fights in ANY era.

Manny Pacquiao - Marco Antonio Barrera II
Shane Mosley vs Miguel Cotto
Kelly Pavlik vs Jermain Taylor
Juan Diaz vs Julio Diaz
Joe Calzaghe vs Mikkel Kessler
Joan Guzman vs Humberto Soto

and now...

Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Ricky Hatton

And this lineup is for a sport that everyone says is dying?!?! This is what I say to those boxing detractors, BOXING IS ALIVE AND KICKING MOTHER FUCKERS!!!! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

was talking to miles close ot the start of the year and we were on about then the possible line ups and how this could be on of the greatest years in boxing hat has taken place...

its just a shame really there isn't a heavy out there, boxing no matter how good a year it is will always suffer i think unles there is a heavyweight that people wanna tune in and see..

all the lower weight class, even the main event with p4p fighters always seemed like an undercard build up for the month untill we seen guys like tyson, holyfield, lewis etc all take centre stage...

Well at least we know that Peter will have a belt. He BETTER not lose.

This whole year had nothing but big fights actually, But I don’t know about the best in boxing seeing as I’ve only lived for 16 years lol.

Definitely the best year that I lived thru though lol!

All the fights you mentioned are good except Hatton/Mayweathers Jr.

6 out of 7 is hella great though.

I need to put more TV's in my living room with all the great fights this fall going up against football. It seems like week after week we're going to have superb matchups.

don't be fool by the media. there are good fighter around in this era and good fights are being made. the heavy weight division is just piss poor right now. other than that we've been treated to some great match ups. those who know, know.

I do this all the time, usually writing a couple paragraphs before I look at my screen and see what I printed. I always go back and correct it though.

To me Calzaghe vs. Kessler will be the major fight.

Kessler going abroad and defeating the ring's champ will place him in top 5 P4P.

This match will be so much more easier for Mikkel than most box experts predict.

and its going to be better now that top rank and golden boy are working together.
