Default Scott Harrison hits a new low, very sad indeed.

COMATOSE with drink, former world boxing champion Scott Harrison slumps in a Spanish bar below a portrait of his hero Muhammad Ali.

Last night Harrison was in rehab after hitting a new low in Lineker's, in Malaga. He is barred from leaving Spain after being accused of hitting a policeman.

On Thursday night he was mocked by fellow drinkers who poured water on him as he lay slumped in the bar.

He and his friends had tried to get drink money by selling autographs at five euros a time. But when Harrison, 29, eventually regained consciousness, he was unable to say his own name never mind write it.

Late last week Harrison was admitted to a Spanish rehab clinic at the request of his family.

One Scots holidaymaker said: "At first I didn't even recognise Harrison.

"One of his pals approached me and said, 'Do you want his autograph?' I asked who it was and he told me Scott Harrison. Then he told me he wanted five euros for an autograph.

"Harrison was unconscious. His friends were putting his hand in a glass of cold water to see if they could make him p*** himself.

"They were throwing water on his face trying to get him to come round, then started slapping him. In the end, his mates literally had to carry him out the door."

Harrison missed an appearance at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday to answer assault charges when a Spanish judge refused to release his passport.

The boxer and four pals have been regulars at the Sol Aloha Puerto hotel, where guests complained about their rowdy behaviour

One worker at the hotel said: "Sebastian Rodriguez, the manager, tried to speak to this man and his friends and he was pushed away.

"Unfortunately, it was into the pool. Sebastian was furious but Harrison and his friends just laughed."

Harrison was declared bankrupt this month over a £83,778 tax bill.

The boxer is awaiting trial in Spain after he and his uncle Jack McGill were accused of attacking two men in Malaga last year.

They are also accused of battering a policeman.

Harrison still faces four separate trials in Scotland.

What a fucking waste, to be honest i think a year or so wouldnt do him any harm in the slammer, might give him time to reflect on what he has become and maybe it will sort his head out, what a fucking shame.

Add this to the article earlier in the week where his former manager was distancing himself from him and it looks increasingly likely that Harrison is going to drink himself into an early grave, with the so called friends only showing up because it's an excuse for a drinking session.

I hope someone in that group of friends can find the decency to try and turn him off this path before it's too late.

I don't think its fair to blame his friends as they are probably just of the same drunken mindset as Harrison.

You can't feel sorry for him and blame his friends for his demise any more than you can blame him for theirs.

They are Scottish at the end of the day so if you want a scapegoat blame their nationality.

Its a horribly sad affair. His career does SEEM to be over. Its about trying to preserve himself now. He's gotta get out of his mindset somehow. What he is doing now is a dead end.

I hope he can pull himself together but im not sure...

Call me heartless but I couldn't give a shit either way. He's basically living the exact same way as 5 million other Scots. Do you feel sorry for Amazonian tribespeople becuase they choose to live huts made from bark and tree sap? Then why feel sorry for a jock who is an alcholic? He's just being a patriot.

    Bilbo, Bilbo!!!

I have to feel some pity for someone with a serious drinking disorder and is who seemingly unable to deal with it. Im not a fan of Harrison in any way, shape nor form but the guy has serious issues and he seems completely unable or unwilling to help himself. This whole thing is not gonna go away on its own.

Admittedly he is a Scot, but even that for me deserves some pity too.

Seems you're working to old stereotypes there Bilbo...next you'll be saying the Welsh and New Zealanders shag sheep, the Americans eat until they're about 500 lbs and the English are stubborn and terrible at sport.
And I reserve the right to blame his friends, I don't care if they are scots, one of them will have twigged on to the fact that Scott is an alcoholic and should try and help him out.
