Default What happens to the middleweight division when after Pavlik/Taylor?

Conventional wisdom is that neither Pavlik or Taylor will stay at Middleweight, so when both these guys move up, the middleweight lineal and Ring title will evaporate. Who will step in and be the recognized "Man" at 160?

I'm going with Paul Williams. I think he would have more power at that weight, he would still have a reach advantage over most guys, and he would have excellent speed. Of the top young WW and JMW's, he seems like the most obvously guy to move up into the MW power vacuum. Besides, he he grabs a middleweight belt, he might be a more tempting target for PBF. I'm sure he would like to add a title at 160 to his collection.

Winky is the other obvious choice and given his past willingness to travel, he might be willing to fight Abraham, though I don't know if that would be enough money for him. Let's see what other people think.

I'm actually not sure..but paul williams will have a great opportunity. I'm still not totally sold on him being king of the middleweights, since i never really thought that highly of margarito before the fight although i picked margarito to win.

I think if Pavlik wins he will stay around and have a couple title defenses. He needs to move up sooner or later. I cant wait for a Pavlik Kessler or a possible rematches with Miranda and Taylor at 168. Paul Williams would do great he has a tall frame good arm length and room to fill in his body. If I was Williams I would want world titles at 147 and 154 before thinking of 160. He has came a long way and shocked allot of people by beating Margarito. There is just much money in 147 as 160 and he has the tools to beat the best. But right now Winky Wright would fit the bill at 160.

Arthur Abraham and then he moves up and Joe Greene and Peter Quillan and Andre Ward will take over

Other guys will fight it out though: Karmazin, Ouma, Spinks, Duddy, Mora.

Duddy-Mora wouldn't be such a bad fight to make, I hate Mora but it would be an exciting fight, ESPN should look into that
