I have read Larry's autobiography...I have seen his beyond the glory...I have heard him in interviews and even interviewed him myself and you know what.....

He is the most self serving,,Asshole I have ever met. Everything is poor Larry and no one evr gave me a chance but I proved them wrong...Look what I did...I had it soooo hard....Why did everyone pay attention to everyone else but me....

Get over it Larry...Many fighters had it worse then you and you ended up with a pretty good legacy....And contrary to what he has tried to say 10,000 times he is not as good as Ali was and would not have beaten a prime Ali.........

No one paid any attention to him because his personality sucks

I would give Holmes a good shot at beating Ali.

I have a book called Facing Ali it is about 15 of his opponents and how fighting him changed theri careers...In the book Holmes states that..."I could not see what all the interest in Ali was...Even whan I was his sparring partner I knew I could beat him but all they ever cared about was him"..........Holmes has stated in other things Ali was overrated....As a prime Vs Prime fight Holmes would be embaressed by the speed and combos

No hw whoever lived would embarrass prime Holmes or beat him convincing he gives any hw a tough nights work including Ali i don't like what Holmes says either but he is great fighter and i respect his skills Ali had alot of trouble with lesser fighters than Holmes i don't see why people get this impression that Ali would beat Holmes easily not true at all.

Larry still wants big George. thats a ppv I would pay to see. Maybe a Heavyweight double header with Duran- Hearns 2 for $49.95... Damn I think I can sell this

Its shame Holmes made a name for himself a little too late in late 70s i would loved to of seen Holmes vs Foreman i can't understand why it didn't happen when they 40+ ?? Holmes claimed Foreman ducked him which i don't believe but why didn't it happen ?? it would of been huge fight with plenty of interest and plenty of money.

I agree .Ali had a few problems with the German he fought in 1966.

Styles make fights and I think Holmes might have given Ali a few problems before Ali would win on points.

Yes i remember that and also he had problems with Doug Jones, Henry Cooper, Jimmy Young, Joe Bugner, all these fighters are lesser fighters than Holmes no one denies Ali fought greatest hws of all time but i think people are unfair in these match ups with Ali he was beatable he had flaws that quick fighters like Holmes could take advantage of im not saying Holmes would win but he would give Ali all he could handle.

A lot of guys gave ali their best. Meanwhile, it's round 8, ali's opponent is almost winded and he hasn't even broke a sweat yet. Just because the guy didn't dominate every single round doesn't mean he struggled against them. How can you even tell when somebody with their hands dropped the whole fight every fight has had a bad night? Everytime he actually got hit it would almost always be flush. That being said, getting hit flush here and there doesn't mean they gave him trouble. The only reason cooper was even in that fight was because ali was carrying him so his prediction for what round he would ko him in would turn out to be true. And it did .

In classic prime ali fashion, he would mess with holmes until he found out that holmes was legit. Then he would put on a clinic and close the show. Ali was faster and wasn't even remotely gun shy in his prime. Say what you want about holmes jab, ali's flurries would be too much. Ali was faster than holmes, had better reflexes and more power. Holmes would come to fight but he's not gonna be leaving the winner.

Well he didn't play with Young who made Ali look terrible making him miss Young should of won the fight but got robbed and also Doug Jones a jouryneyman who took Ali the distance and lost split decision and this was near prime Ali and thats questionable if Ali had more power than Holmes and your saying about Ali's flurries Holmes could do quick flurries aswell and a fighter of Holmes caliber would not get overwhelmed by flurries.

Oh i must be mistaken i thought it was because he almost koed Ali and Ali had to have his glove split and had to have smelling salts to revive him because he didn't know where he was which wasn't allowed in UK at that time i believe.

If ali was really struggling that bad and cooper was really that on that night, he would've finished ali off after he was "hurt". If he wanted to, he could've stopped it in one and once the next round commenced (ali only receiving a 7 extra second rest) ali did finish it like he should have several rounds before. He didn't always come to fight against what he considered lesser competition but when it was a big time fight he stepped up and if he lost, he'd win the rematch. He was beatable, its been pointed out many times, but when he was fighting at 100% he wasn't.

I've never really been sold on holmes TBH. Running around saying he's one of the best ever after he beats the shell of a true legend. I remember watching his BTG awhile ago and it pissed me off. He said the shadow of ali prevented him from being liked in that he couldn't call himself "the greatest" because people would think he was mimicing ali . Seriously i don't know what part of the show it is but holmes damn near cries for ali limiting his creative freedom. Like he wanted to invent rhyming poems about his opponents and what not.... Cry baby is what he is.

Man punisher get off Ali's dick man sounds like you want to blow the guy and why you hate Holmes so much he is in the top 3 of all time and defended the title 20 times and was never beat in his prime and i think ice makes way more sense then you do cause he uses facts why dont you stop saying why Ali would have no problem because i seeing it being a close fight yea Ali was faster power was about even dude and the jab of Holmes would give Ali problems all night Ali is arguable the best there every was but he is not a god and Holmes is the fighter who would prove it

Whew! Some rough stuff here. I'll pass for now. Suffice it to sat that if Larry could have remained humble and quiet, he would have received the respect he always sought.

I can not blame Larry Holmes for being made because regradless how good he was he was the champ after Ali he may of been able to hang with Ali in the ring but his personAlity was nothing to what ali had people loved the man and for good reason Larry was flashy enough but was still one of the best fighters there every been so i mean it all on how you look at it i guess
