pavlik versus kessler

i think kessler is going to stop calzagne and that should and hopefully set up a gigantic battle between pavlik and kessler. Gotta love these guys going at eachother, finally we are getting top fighters versus top fighters all undefeated too. If not kessler, calzagne will prolly make it difficult to make a pavlik bout so i'm hoping kessler knocks him out. I have more faith in kessler wanting to fight anyone,anytime and ANYWHERE.

Pavlik is still young and developing. Let him establish his legs with top middleweight competition for a few more fights and then let him move up. There are still many interesting fights at Middleweight he can dapple into. Why put him into superfights when he has not proven himself totally yet? Let the man make some defenses and some money first.

I find right now he still fights with too much of a machismo mindset at times and he has to correct that. Let the Joe/Kessler winner fight Hopkins for now.

Pacman vs JMM definitely will be a candidate.

Sorry but I just don't see how we can determine that....

I mean Kelly vs. Kess hasn't even been signed....


If I had to guess I would say Marquez vs. Vasquez III cause as far as I know that's the closest fight there is to really happening in 2008 and even then it's no guarantee.

no, not really asking what really will be fight of the year 2008. i'm just saying pavlik versus kessler COULD be the fight of the year IF made.

rafa isreal 3 will definitely be one I will highly anticipate, who you got winning the third if it does happen?

Well potentially there are loads of great fights that could be made

valero vs pacman would be the one id most look forward to if it could be made.

haye and enzo mac would also be great

Mayweather vs. Mosley/Cotto

Mayweather vs. mosley when they both beat Hatton and Cotto

Hatton vs Cottowhether they both win or both loose ive been praying for this fight for what seems like eternity

Pavlik will not fight Kessler next year. Let him enjoy the MW championship for about 2 years and when he's too big for the division he'll bump up and take on Kessler or whomever else is in the division.

Look for the 2008 fight of the year to involve Miguel Cotto and another undefeated fighter. Paul Williams, Floyd Mayweather, perhaps even Ricky Hatton (though he'll have one L on his record by then).

I give Pavlik-Taylor II a shout to. For me, the first fight was FOTY thus far. I just loved everything about the fight. Swung one way to the other in the blink of an eye.

You're right though, FOTY 2008 can't be decided now...because you have no idea what fights are going to be made. Also, I've never once heard of Pavlik & Kessler ever mentioning each other's names. It'll be irrelevant anyway when Calzaghe schools Kessler

Yes, MikeTysonKnockout. I have posted things which do not include pacman. I am saying a fact. Pacman vs JMM 2 will definitely be something if they fight next year. The topic was "fight of the year for 2008". Sulaiman and ODLH are saying that pacman vs JMM2 must happen in 2008.can you blame me for including that fight as a probable candidate for fight of the year? With the talent of Marquez and the aggressiveness of Pacquaio, can you say otherwise?

Personally I can't see this fight happening for a few years yet. Kessler will need to recover from his defeat to Calzaghe, and Pavlik will have his rematch against Taylor and will look to complete a few more unifications at MW before he moves up.

However, it could well be a FOTY 2010 contender.
