Thread: Jamie Moore world class?

Saw Jamie Moore beat Andrew Facey on sky. He looked poor, I know he has been out of the ring but the basics of head movement and feinting were not being done by him. I know Facey is awkward but Moore struggled will he get past European stage and become a world champion. I do not think he will, he has been in a lot of wars and feel he will not make it.

He performed very poorly on Friday and looked hurt in at least two stages of the fight. Do you know what the plan is for his next fight? They were talking about European title fight.

i reckon he'd get found at european level to be honest.

he's great to watch tho.

Who are the challengers at European level and how good are they? He said he wanted a fight at that level next at the end of the year or the new year.

Better a poor performance at this stage than at a higher level, i think the layoff affected him, slowed him too, but it's not the end of the world, he still won and hopefully will continue to.

I don't think he'll cut it against the very best. The best fight for him at the moment (well for fans) would be Pryce. That has cracker written all over it.

Moore's in line to fight Zaurbek Baysangurov () for the European.

I dont really know what European level is like at 154 but im pretty sure world class is far too much for Jamie to handle.

I'm not certain and may well be wrong, but wasn't Bradley Pryce's last fight at middle not light middle?

In a word no he's not world class.

He MAY prove to be European class but that's all.

He reminds me a lot of John Thaxton both in appearance and style.

A relentless come forward pressure fighter but not particularly skilled and will be found out at the highest level.

In fact I'd bet he'd be found out at British level if he fights Bradley Pryce who has improved tremendously as a fighter.

I'd love to see him batter the fuck out of Anthony Small though.

Well, I do believe (as Hatton said) that Moore is vacating his British belt now, so I doubt he'd make a beeline for Bradley Pryce, because however bad his performance was (and it was poor) against an awkward fighter, he's got aspirations for higher honours, and Baysangurov is probably going to be his next fight. Not having seen this dude, I can't speculate what his style will be, but with 12 kos from 16 wins, I expect him to be pretty strong, and stamina shouldn't be a problem for the 22-year-old champion.

Moore puts it down to ring-rust, but if it is, as boxrec has it, scheduled for 8 December (looks like a Setanta show to rival the Amir Khan bill) he needs a lot of sparring to get his movement and accuracy pinned down.

However, having interviewed him for the site, he was one of the nicest and most talkative guys I've interviewed, and I wish him all the best in his challenge, cause I always want the nice guys to come out on top.

I met Jamie at Michael Jennings last fight, him and David Barnes, top lads really down to earth and friendly. I was surprised to see how big he was, he must have murder making 154.

As far as him being world class, he may be a little too one dimensional to beat a technician like Spinks or Forrest, with stamina and power like he has though he'd be a tough nights wrork for any champion, the trouble is he's still faught no one world class, I don't know if he's even rated by some of the organisations.

When Moore beat Lujan earlier this year they were ranked 10th and 11th with the WBO yet after the fight they dropped Moore from their rankings. Alphabet nuts.

Baysangurov looks a very decent fighter.

The fight isn't on Setanta it's on SKY - start of the Hatton PPV.

Saying that Pryce actully pulled out of a fight with Moore around 18 months ago, i read an interview recently with Jamie stating Pryce had his chance and didnt want any of it, i think it would be a close fight.

He maybe european class but i really do see him been totaly outclassed by any1 in the top 8 in the world.
