My own take is that I think he as very stupid not to postbone the match, he must have underestimated Calzaghe since he fought he could win if he wasn´t 100%. He stated that if the fight got postboned we was afraid that it would never happen. Still stupid I think. He also fought Mundine with a back injury.

I hope this is the last time Kessler do this.

Interview with Kessler:

Kessler: I can now reveal that I had a hand injury and I couldn't use the hand the last 3 weeks.

Why did you keep it a secret ?

Kessler: Are you insane had I revealed it I would have been done for.

Why didn´t you try to postbone the match ?

Kessler: Had I done that the fight would never had happened.

Despite the injured hand Kessler refused to use the hand as a excuse for the defeat.

Kessler: I lost to a better man. It was Joes night.

AS far as my danish goes, and I am Danish. Kessler has in no way blamed the defeat on the hand injury. I just fought it was stupid of him to fight in less than stellar condition against a opponent like Calzaghe. I rank Calzaghe higher than Kessler now no doubt about that.

at the press conference he stated he had no hand problem whn asked, he also went on to say that this was the first time in the last few fights i forget the exact amount that he has had a perfect training camp without any problems at all and that

"I was i had a bag here to show you all that there is no problem with my hand"

Truth is i think there was some minor problem with the hand. there is very seldomly smoke without fire, and for the story of a hand problem to come out without any reasonf or it doesn't really happen. I do however believe the hand problem was minimal and that problem or not nothing would of changed last night, kessler was in no vissible pain when they took his gloves off, no wincing with connecting with the punches or anything.

Let's be honest,his hand wasn't injured. If it was,I don't see how it affected his performance. If it was,I don't see what he would have done differently,he would still have been outworked etc.

I agree that I don't think it would have change the final outcome either. But still why go up against Calzaghe in lesser shape than 100%. Kessler wanted to secure the fight and the payday, I guess that is the reason.

And Kessler did through a lot of power punches. But Had it been me I had postbone the fight 4 sure. Not sure if Kessler is as smart I wrote this before. Still love his boxing though
