Default Baldomir's fight last night proves he's nothing more than a journeyman.

I;ve never been a fan of Baldo,I'm not keen on Cinderella stories. He was fighting a guy who was 3-5-1 in his last 9 and Baldo would have lost the fight had Perez not taken the last 2 rounds off.I've never rated Baldo nor will I ever, regardless of whether he was RING champ or not.He was losing to Clottey, beat a shot Gatti and mentally unstable Zab,and should have lost his last 3 fights. He refused to rematch Clottey too.

(I just wanted to get this off my chest)

Who the hell is Baldo? Is this the guy I said was so old he dated Nefertiti? Would this be the same old man Floyd ran from all night long?

It is indeed that same man. Title or not,I don't rate him. He didn't beat a legit top 10 WW other than Zab(at the time).

Baldomir was a solid fighter who had some elite characteristics (strength, CHIN, will) that allowed him to hang with some top guys.

He just fought Vernon Forrest, and looked like a very tough cookie. Now, he looks bad for the first time that you've seen him, and some guys are denigrating him.

The same people who were saying that Margarito was garbage after Williams and then after he beats Golden Johnson, they are saying that Margarito would beat Cotto.

TaTa is who he is. A tough, 36 yr old mid-pack WW. But last night, he was out of shape. He was ten pounds above where he has performed best.

baldo is one of those tough fighters above the levels of a journeymen but wouldn't mind decieving others that he is NOT just a journeyman. Similar to a glen johnson, fights the best out there when possible but isn't consistant enough throughout a whole career to be recognize as elite. He can hang with the top guys though and I would love to see COTTO VS BALDO only becuase baldo is a tough tough S.O.B and I want to see how he takes COTTOS shots.

Exactly. He is a guy who made his career out of beating guys in their own backyards, many of them undefeated prospects. He is now at the end of his career and is not the same fighter as he once was but you cant hold his entire career to that. I honestly dont think he trained for this fight either.
