I am hearing they are in deep talks with Carlos Quintana to fight Paul Williams on Feb 2nd.
Does Quintana stand a chance?

Not just no...but HELL NO!Originally Posted by Pantera

Stupid fight for Quintana to take.
Never beg a 40 dollar hooker...specially after she's just turned down your mom's credit card!!
I think Williams beats Quintana based on volume punching. But by no means do I see it as a mismatch or a bad fight. I think Quintana stands a good chance against Williams.
I thought the Quintana vs. Judah fight was already penned for Feb 16th?
Yeh,he got thrashed vs.Cotto but Is this the same Quintana that wouldn't get off the stool.
This Is more of a showcase for Williams. And Im not sold on Freakish Williams. His workrate and Rangy power are grade a but To me he smothers himself and gets hit a little frequent w/L.hooks.........Lets hope
It's been talked about, but that's about it....Originally Posted by Deanrw
From what I hear he is really considering the fight with Willaims. Maybe it will be his last decent payday.
Your right on the smothering he cant generate as much power, but he is hard to deal with when he keeps his proper range.Originally Posted by Spicoli Surfs In 'Nawlins
Quintana is a good fighter but it's going to take a different kind of fighter to frustrate Williams
Is Clottey free? He could make a good opponent for Williams. I rate him higher than Cintron anyway....
Well why wont he just match Margarito what is this shit about him fighting this guy that makes me anger man wtf is up with that.
Also why is Cintron not facing Berto he won the eliminator and i think Berto has a great chance at beating Cintron not ready for Williams yet though but I think he have a great chance with Cintron he has speed good power and footwork be a good fight to see happen i wish they make it.
I think Quintana has a decent chance in this to be honest. He lost to Cotto becuase Cotto is a murderous brutal beast in the ring and he couldn't take his body shots, Williams will just try and pitter patter him to death.
There is no weight on Williams' punches, seriously nothing at all. It's been embarrassing at times in his career watch him completely outbox a guy and literally pound them with a million and one pitter patter shots but not doing any damage leaving the referee floundering as he clearly wants to stop a mismatch but has no real reason to stop at any one point in time.
He strikes me as being more of an annoyance than a real fighter. That doesn't mean I think he'll be easy to beat, far from it in fact, his freaky long arms and stretchy body mean it's like facing Dhalsim from Streetfighter.
All I'm saying is that Quintana can't be discounted on the basis of his loss to Cotto as Williams is a completely different fighter.
He'll probably still beat Quintana as his style is so difficult to counter but I Quintana's weakness to body punches won't be a major factor in this fight I don't think.
What has he even done to be getting a title shot is what i do not get he got fucked up by Cotto and has not done much sense for a title shot.
He's a replacement. He's stepping in for an injured fighter. He's a good fighter. If not Quintana than who?Originally Posted by Mr140
I would like to say Berto but he is not ready but your right i guess he is not that bad either.
