Default Where Was Ricardo Lopez Rated In P4P List's In His Prime ??

Im sure CutMeMick will know this so i'll wait until he gets on, Lopez is one of the most under appreciated boxer's of all time. I see lists, Listing greatest boxers of all time and i never see Lopez on any of them. Lopez was the complete package and its a shame that the lower weight classes don't get as much credit or interest as they should.

I saw a list somewhere from a article about the DLH-Trinidad Fight

At that time he was around 6th behind RJJ, DLH, Tito, PBF and Mosley

CC back ICE. I think he probably deserved to be around 2nd or 3rd easy. Mosley, Floyd and Tito were great but at the time they still had not done the things which we all praise them for. DLH on the other hand had already won titles in 4 weight classes and had his biggest wins over Whitaker and Chavez.

Sadly, the highest he was ever rated was #4 (I say sadly cause well it's sucks that due to his size he was and is always over looked) but he was only there for a couple of weeks as the big boys in the lates 90's where fighting eachother like crazy..... Plus he had just gotten the Draw vs. Alvaro.

This is been said before here but in an interview done by RJJ he humbly said:
"Ricardo is #1 P4P IMO, the mans got tremendous talent I don't know why hes so low?" - RJJ

The interview was done in 97-98.

so thats ice? i thought it was gamo...silly me.

I think in 96-99 lopez would of been p4p best if he had more exposure but due to his size he was overlooked. Anybody would say the same why he wasn't rated higher, theres really no other reason why he wasn't ever rated higher then 5th i think.

I think I saw that and I also heard RJJ say it when he was commentating a Lopez fight. He was waxing lyrical over Lopez, saying he was one of the best fighters in the world and his technique was awesome. So was Larry Merchant.Great stuff.

I have watched 10+ fights of Lopez and i have him in top 10 most skilled fighters of all time. He was amazing how he was wasn't rated higher in P4P list's is absurd, and what makes me sad is that he isn't even on most people's greatest fighters of all time list's just such a shame that amazing fighter like Lopez is forgotten so easily.

Well if you are not in the Featherweight,Lightweight,Welterweight,Middleweigh t,Lightheavyweight and Heayweight divisions you will be over looked. And as far as Lopaz goes i not a huge expert on the man but with his record and 26 titles diffences he derserves a mention was he good enough to move up to featherweight or would that be a stretch for him just to ask because he probably would of got more mention if he did.
