    Default Ricky's next fight...In Ireland???

Irish Tabloids this morning have revealed that Ricky has been approached by Irish Promoter and recent friend Brian Peters about Fighting in Ireland. Peters and Hatton's father both confirmed talks, with Peters saying it's too early to announce much and Ray Hatton saying it would be nice.

Ray Hatton went on to say that he sees a fight with Witter happening but not right now as "Ricky is a shadow of himself." He however went on to say that should an Irish fight happen it would be a world ranked opponenet as Ricky has to "get up for it".....

In the piece Ricky says he will fight twice next year as his cycle goes in "two's and three's" He also said that Floyd said to him that he gave him his toughest fight....

Lots to pick at in there, but most importantly the mountain has come to me

I'd prefer Manchester, but as it's not far, I'd happily get my jabs and come over to Ireland to watch Ricky.

i think ricky should be fighting ree's mext at Wembly.. Its a fairly low risk fight for a recognised belt and a confidence builder..

Jumping into the ring with Witter would not be a good idea in his next fight as he needs to find his feet again..

Fight Ree's then Witter in a couple of home comming fights and establish himself with 2 of the belts.. Then i fight with Paulie in NY would cement him as at top 3 L-Welter of all time... He could then end his carrer with one last maga fight with dare i say it a re-match with Mayweather!

The problem with Wembley is it is in the middle of no where.

Thats why football fans used to love coming to Cardiff for cup matches coz the millenium stadium is right in the city center.Nice and close to all the pubs and night life.

All I know is he could fill Croke Park or the RDS here and we could have a mega event! The last big fight in Croker was Ali vs. Al Lewis!!!

Off-topic perhaps, but I'm asking out of curiosity: Would they put an Englishman in there to headline a card in Croke Park?

(And I am asking out of geniunely curiosity - I am somewhat familiar with Irish history, but only from an outsider's perspective. I did visit Dublin recently and ended up discussing things like 'Croke Park' in bars and with my friend's mates - one had attended the Ireland-England rugby match there when GSTQ was played - during some serious drinking sessions).

So long as he doesn't find the ring post again, it's cool.

Ha Ha see this is the hypocritical thing about Irish sports. A lot of people are morally against England playing in Croke park after English forces let loose on the crowd during a match years ago.
However when big money gets mentioned it's A-Ok!

And Ricky has a huge following here, so yes it is possible!

Not as likely as the RDS though as Croker is an open stadium.

Well Ive never been to Ireland so i suppose it would be a good laugh.Funny he has a big Irish fanbase.Every Irish man Ive ever met has a serious chip on the shoulder against England lol.

But yeah if it comes to it to Ill go to Ireland or Wembley...or he can come down to Cardiff Hatton would clearly pack out the millennium.
