Default Hatton-Mayweather does 1.2 million ppv buys in UK!

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/mai.../soboxi120.xml

Previous record was Lewis-Tyson with 750.000 buys, Bruno-Tyson had 660.000 according to the numbers in the article.

For all the talk of Money Mayweather, Hatton certainly brought a lot of cash in as well. After all the UK numbers is about 1.5 times higher than the US numbers... It gets even more impressing, when you consider the time difference.

Also, the article states that Hatton gained the greatest amount of money ever earned by a British sportsman for a single sporting event - not bad for a guy competing in a 'dead' sport...

Finally a smart comment CC. If a fighter can bring 10,000 plus fans across the atlantic to see the fight I think it's pretty clear that the one's who did not make the trip were going to watch it also, and yes the time difference was a huge factor, it just goes to show that the UK loves boxing just as much as the US

CC hitman, I had another guy in another thread tell me that it was individuals saying that the Brits had nothing to do with the PPV sales so hahaha, any credible poster ( no matter what nation they are from) will tell you that the Brits sold the fight, it's not even close. Thanks to the Brits who showed alot of loyalty BEFORE AND AFTER THE FIGHT.

CC Returned Braz, I remeber you had the prediction nearly perfect didn't you?
It's a pity a lot of guys on both sides took it so far though and there's a bit of tenacity in the air now.
But doesn't bother me, I gained a lot of respect for Floyd and Ricky's still my favourite active Fighter.

To be honest though, as for the US ppv's Mayweather was the main draw. Perhaps not the only draw, but certainly the main draw. In 3rd countries - like Denmark - where boxing is not that big a sport, Mayweather is probably more known than Hatton as well (although all those persons who might actually wait up for a Mayweather fight are likely to know - and prefer - Hatton as well).

(I am not from Britain, but then again I may not be a credible poster either )

But as for the overall PPV's, I think that these figures show that Hatton is a bigger draw (despite a smaller country).

    (CC returned btw)
