Default Vic Darchinyan vs Z Gorres

Anyone actually see this fight yet? It sounds like a lot of drama was going on in and out of the ring. I have read that Vic's camp is protesting the cards and claims 2 knockdowns were not ruled properly. I also read that the crowd was getting rowdy and throwing things at Vic during the fight. It reminds me of Hagler Vs Minter with the hostile environment.

Darchinyan won clearly . I had it 115-110 but it should have been 115-108 since the ref did not score knockdowns in round 10, and 11 and said Vic pushed him. Round 1, Darchinyan pushed Gorres and the ref said it was a KD , wow . Round 2 Vic went down from a flush shot and was hurt. Round 5 , Vic clearly got a KD but again, the ref ruled it a push. He got one more KD in round 5 but the ref ruled it a push hmmm. This sounds crazy -- IT is , the ref was crap

Thanks for the heads up Sal, I watched the first 2 rounds and that first knockdown was definately a leg sweep I've only gotten to round 2 here at work, i'll watch the rest later when I get home, but it looked pretty exciting, the Filipinos were going ape shit when Z floored Vic in round 2.

I just finished watching the fight and I thought Vic eeeeked out an ugly points win due to the second legit kd. I thought the first k.d. which was a slip was crucial in the scoring of the first round for Vic. Gorres was hit by a punch and off balance, and Vic just did an ole when he tried to hold, that was a knockdown. so it kind of evened out. The seventh round was hard for me to score, so i can see how that could be different on some cards....I scored it 7-5 rounds for Vic, but thats with me giving him that seventh round. Vic's style is just plain ugly. He stalks his way in with no real jab or head movement, sometime he just kind of sticks his arms out as a measuring stick to throw his bomb. I didnt see that punch stat numbers but I gotta think Z outlanded Vic in the fight. That headbutt changed the fight for Vic's favor Gorres was definately losing alot of blood and was getting hit alot due to the blood in his eye. Vic does some weird shit though, like he will step back and try to do some Joe Frazier type head movements, but its just like he's posing, then he comes in awkward just like before. Someone tell him you do the head movement when your coming in not when your at a distance out of punch range.....

I thought I was watching the fight live, turns out I was on like an hour delay.... I had Vic wining by 1 point...

I'm sure if I watch again I'd score it different. Either way Vic should have won. I don't think it was a robbery but it was contreversial.

Not to mention alot of dirty tactics that werent even noticed by the ref, lots of wrestling(mostly Vic) and I saw Vic headbutt a few times. I think a rematch is definately in order.

The ref and the decisions sounded odd. Very disapointing that these things go on. I've yet to watch the fight but have read a bit and no-one i've read gave the fight a draw or to Gorres. Hope it's still on youtube. BTW my older brother lives in canada, called my mother recently to tell her about this great "new" website he found, youtube. Even my mother in her mid 60's thought it was funny.

Ok so I just finished watching it. I disagree with what you said here. I thought the holding was being done by gorres from the middle rounds on and it looked like vic was wrestling to get him off. Gores was trying to hold from the middle of the fight on. Reminded me of the guy who fought Golota in his last fight but no so exagerated. I agree with your post after you watched the fight and i thought vic threw more jabs and combos later in the fight and gorres was being more like the vic of old just looking for the 1 punch counter.

Are you kidding? Vic jabbed more than Z is that what your telling me? I disagree bud, yeah after the headbutt there was holding, I would hold too if someone came in with their shoulder and head. He's like a mini B-Hop with that shit...Watch the later rounds like around 11, you can see Vic clearly try to headbutt while holding Gorres' arms, he does about 3 of em. Ref didnt even notice...Also are you telling me Vic wasnt pushing Z around? Z may have held some after the headbutt that that caused the blood wasnt called. I'm probably gonna watch it again tonight so I'll double check to make sure I am recapping correctly.

No i don't think he jabbed more overall. I guess I was just trying to make the point that late in the fight gorres was mainly throwing 1 power punch rather than combos. Also yes vic was pushing a lot but i thought because gorres was doing more of the holding particularly towards the end. I didnt notice obvious butts although the heads were coming together.

I had Darch winning that fight too by a close margin. Gorres didn't do much on 2nd half of that fight.

I heard if Darch defeated Kirilov,.. Darch-Gorres rematch will happen immediately in the U.S. And I think it's appropriate.

i just finish watching the fight. it could have gone either way. i had darchinyan ahead by one point as well. darchinyan looked so awkward is this fight, the most he looked in any other fight. on the other hand, gorres looked horrible especially after the second half. he looked like he's already gassed out. and i dont know if anybody notice that he doesnt have much heart in him. he also looked like he barely knows how to counter. when he's in a tight spot, all he does is hold. i dunno man, i dont think gorres has what it takes to be a champ.not now at least.
