    Default Pavlik welcomes Wright's challenge

    PAVLIK WELCOMES WRIGHT'S CHALLENGE

"Winky is somebody I've been calling out and he didn't want to fight me. Now that I have the belts, they want to make the fight because it's a money fight and he's not a draw. Now I've got the belts and now he's starting to run his mouth just for the payday that comes with the fight, but I would love to fight him."

"If he can barely handle Jermain Taylor and his shots, what makes him think he could do something different if I fight him? I'd take the fight in a heartbeat. I've just come off fighting guys who are big, strong and can hit. I would love to fight a guy like Winky because he's not a devastating puncher. He's obviously a great boxer and a great fighter; he's accomplished a lot, but I would definitely love to fight him."

"I would love to see how he beats me with his peek-a-boo style. I go a hard twelve rounds."

"Winky Wright, let's see if you want to do this. The only thing I see being a problem is the money and how much he wants. I knocked Jermain Taylor out in the seventh round and I fought him again and beat him again. I didn't barely squeak by or escape with a draw."

Personally, I think a fight with Abraham would be more entertaining...but I wouldn't mind seeing Pavlik beat up on that turtle shell. LOL.

This has gotta happen now. C'mon lets make the fight happen. If Winky loses, then he really needs to stop turning down the fights against the likes of Abraham and Kessler.

Winky is a dangerius fight for anybody... When push comes to shove though Pavlik will end up outworking Wright.

I agree Abraham would be more entertaining...

Winky is my man, but he KO's no one...

He could not stand up to the jack hammer blows of Pavlik. There is a fight were Winky gets KD'd five times or so, en route to his first or second loss. I think this fight would be a mirror image of that one.

He gets pummeled, but keeps getting back up. In the long haul, I can easily say that Pavlik will permanently DAMAGE Winky in a showdown.

    Good payday, bad health choice.

I don't see why this fight has to happen. Kelly can unify with Sturm and then AA and then move up. Wright should at least have to beat a semi decent challenger first. And Kelly is totally correct. Winky wasn't calling out Pavlik before. Now Pavlik is becoming a name,Winky wants in. I don't see it happening and neither does Bob Arum.

IF Bob lets this fight happen(which doesn't appear likely, see his interview at boxingtalk) I've said it in the past and Ill say it again, Kelly wins, via stopapge or wide points for me. To beat Pavlik you need lateral movement imo. And power would help too. Winky has neither. He has an awesome jab but pitty patty punches. He's going to be right in front of Kelly and Kelly is no Trinidad, just because you block a few punches' he's not going to stop throwwing those monstrous right hands.

I see Wright starting off well but Kelly finding his groove in the 4th before overpowering and outpunching Wright. He's too big,too strong and hits too hard for Winky.

There is no point to unifying the middleweight division because we all know that there is only one real champion at 160 anywways and that's Pavlik. I wouldn't mind seeing a fight with Abraham but anytime you can get two top 10 P4P guys (arguably) in the ring together then it's hard to argue against that fight being made.

I saw a clip of that fight and Winky's defense was nowhere near where it is now. He also looked pretty exhausted and crestfallen. I'd like to see the fight. I don't think Pavlik automatically wins it. Pavlik comes forward, but Wright never looked rattled by Taylor's power. Winky had faster hands than Jermain, Jermain had faster hands than Kelly- perhaps Winky will blunt some of Kelly's power with his speed. And let's be honest- Winky beat Jermain.

I really dont know with Winky i mean Vasquez was crude but got to him , and since then Winky's chin has been top notch , personally i dont think he deserves the match , he needs a good win to merit the challange , and i would love Pavlik to fight Arahams .
