    Default Buying a Heavy Bag

Well i'm 16, 118 lbs, and i want to buy a heavy bag. Should i buy a 70 lb bag or a 100lb bag to make it react more like a realistic weight (read this in a thread from here). also i'm not looking to spend over 130-140 as well, and what's a good alternative material because i can't afford leather. Also what's a good fill as well?

    Thanks

I would suggest buying a 100pd bag because you're still growing and eventually will be knocking that 70pd bag all over the place.

I would just simply ask the retailer if I could try them out first inside the store. Ya know,.. just hit 'em with your bare naked fists.

ohh alright, good idea, but the big five i'm close to (SM) has no bags on display (or for sale i don't think) haven't checked the DC one though.

I'd suggest deff. a 100 lb. bag. First bag I got was 70 lbs when I first started, and it got useless fast. Ended up having to go out and get another 100 lb one in what seemed short order.

Not sure the weight deal, and it might help for a lesser weight the chime in as i'm heavier, but most anyone I know regardless of weight uses the heavier 100.

    Good luck getting a bag.

I think 70 lbs and 100 lbs are fairly standard donny. atleast here. Don't much know about UK weight in terms of stones tho.

Just doing some googlin' regarding the weight issue and see that for the lighter weights it is sometimes recommended the lighter 70 lbs bag, but in the 2 gyms I have been to so far I've not seen anything less then the bigger bag being used.

A vinyl Century bag will last you a long time.
