    Default Morales v Marquez

I was just thinking the fabulous four in the last while imo are

Barrera,Morales,Marquez and Pac, they all had great fights against each other except for Morales and Marquez, kinda a pity these two never fought. If they met in there primes who do u think would have won?

IMO it would depend on what Morales does.

Prime for prime I'd go with Morales to Beat JMM, if I was ramking them I could only split them like this

    1 Morales & MAB - Equal
    2 Pac & JMM - Equal

I think they go 1-1 i think Marquez wins the first fight using his better boxing skills and wins a close UD, then Morales adjust and earns a close UD.

The "fab 4 " are from different eras. Pac and Marquez came along later . Barrera was from the Nas era. Morales too was in decline from the 3rd Barrera fight onwards .

Prime for Prime theres no comparing Morales and Marquez. Morales was a boxing legend moving up weights and dominating in each weight class. He was amazing . Marquez was losing to guys like Norwood and Chris John . Its only recently he has managed to secure fights with bigger names. I think he beat Pac twice but he lost 1 and drew 1 . Remember Morales coming off a loss was able to beat Pacman .

Erik had the power to hurt Marquez and he had the ability to go for it unlike Marquez. For me its a no brainer. Morales takes this no problem .

Come on GAME be fair theres no way Marquez lost to John that was a robbery and you know it, and Norwood was a spoiler so he made it a messy hard fight to score and Marquez was unlucky again. Even Morales in his prime had his struggles like against Guty Espadas Jr in there first fight which is considered a controversial decision. He also strugged against an old Daniel Zaragoza who was 39 years old.

Yeah Morales struggled vs Chi etc but at his best when he was on form I dont think Marquez stood a chance.

All we can do here is give opinions and that is mine. Im not saying Marquez is a bad fighter but his legacy doesnt touch Eriks or Barreras. Yeah Morales - Marquez is a fight that should have happend but if it did my money would be on el terrible . defo !

Prime for Prime I think morales takes it. He was a beast, I saw JMM fight some good fights but I wouldnt call it his prime. Now when Morales was in his Prime you saw it.

i cant predict because both fighters are strong. each fighters has each own history of fight but if i were have to chose one of them i rather go for Marquez because his the only fighter who manage to go with pacquiao and has a possibility to defeat pacquiao if they are given a chance to fight manny pacquiao. ^_^

Thumbs up Re: Morales v Marquez

It depends which Marquez shows up and I'll go with Marquez because he is more versatile a fighter. We pretty much know what Morales will bring but in his 3 fights with Barrera, Barrera showed Morales could be out fought and out boxed. Marquez is closer to Barrera in terms of range of ability.

Therefore JMM by decision. I don't see him stopping Morales. I think these two could have equally been in some exciting fights. If they'd all fought between 2000-2003 we could have had some epics like the MW's in the 80's.

I agree with a couple of posts above, it would depend on what type of Marquez turned up. If both in their prime I think Morales would take it...with no disrespect to Marquez (who i'm a big fan of)
Its a shame this fight never took place

Prime vs Prime. Hmm.. Interesting. Imo Morales would beat Marquez at 122 and below. Marquez would beat Morales at 130 and above. Draw at 126.

JMM had the opportunity to fight EM on fall of 2006 --> Juan Manuel Marquez: Returning From The Dead But the negotiation didn't work out.
