    Default Joe Cortez watch.

Another piss poor display he let Wlad hug all fight!

Poor old Hatton after seeing this guy let Klitscko and Hopkins get away with insane amounts of holding must be a tad pissed that when he got within 2ft of Mayweather he was already moving to break them up.

Referees back the house fighter, sometimes it makes a difference other times it does not.

Poor old Hatton? Other than the Mayweather fight, name one other fight when he has not had the ref on his side?
Remember Hatton Tszyu, the things that Parris let Hatton get away with are ten times as bad as anything PBF did. If Hatton was so good he would have changed his tactics. Great fighters adjust to what the referee is allowing them or not allowing them to get away with.

Like a few ref's (and judges too thinking about it) I think he needs a refresher course. Needs a check-up from the neck-up I think he's gone upstairs. Too many fuck ups in too short a time.

Cortez is awfull. He should have been watching the guy that worked the Banks Rositto fight, very good.

.....So the fight would have been different if Cortez wasn't the ref

I still see Hatton getting blasted by Floyd, I still see Calzaghe winning by decision, and I still see Wlad winning by KO.

I fail to see the point of all this bitching...since the Sam Peter fight Wlad hasn't done as much clinching as people bitch about and WHY for fucks sake does he get complained about and not Hatton?

It's just the Hatton fans trying to make an excuse for his loss when all you really need to say is "Ricky fought outside his comfort zone of 140 and PBF was too scared to fight him there"

The worst thing Cortez did in the Wlad fight was taping Thompson's glove....Tony was ready to go but got a little stamina back when that timeout happened

After reading the title of the thread I became perplexed. I thought Rolex lost their collective minds and were going to put a Joe Cortez watch on the market

That would be an unreliable timepiece: too fast, too slow, not working properly and erratic 1/2 the time

That doesnt matter a fighter should be given every opportunity to fight his fight. Millions of fans and tens of millions of dollars are invested in a fighter. Hatton is not allowed to fight his fight but Hopkins is? it should be an even playing field fair but it is not. Weather Hatton would have won or weather Thompson would have won is doubtful and quite irrelivant and seriously how the hell would anyone know?

Its like getting Floyd to fight Hatton and take away his best chance of winning.

Ok to kill someone with cancer because HAY they are gonna die anyway? NO.

What specifically should Cortez have done in each fight to be a better ref?

What did i say that was crazed? I stated the obvious, u couldnt handle it and started calling me names. If u think what i said was so wrong back it up. Truth is Hatton has spent the majority of his career being allowed to get away with what he wanted and the first tome that didnt happen he struggled.
If Cortez had let Hatton hold and foul which is illegal u would have said he was a good ref.

As Lyle said, Calzaghe would still have won, Wlad would still have won and Pbf would still have beaten poor old Ricky. If anyone is a crazed fanboy it is you.

Seriously if you dont get it this time you will never get it.

It is not a case of you thinking the other guy would have won so it was ok to screw up an event that tens of millions of people watch. That has taken 12wks to promote inc world tours and 12wks for a fighter to get in shape.

Thats like having a handycap it insane. Maybe i will e-mail the NFL and say the bigger teams should have a TD headstart, dont worry its ok because my friend thinks they will win anyway.

As for letting Hatton foul all fight no i wanted infighting Hatton game his only hope for a good fight Cortez took that away which is shit and it would only be a shit ref job if he did the same for Hopkins/Calzaghe but considering he did the total opposite and let the home boy fighter fight his game it is shocking and from that alone Cortez should have retired.
