I didn't realise it was that easy. It's a shame you weren't in Hopkins corner to have told him that Joe was close to cracking.

But he had to go and choose Freddy Roach to train him for that fight just becuase he has the reputation as being one of the best trainers in the world.

Had he gone with a 15 year old internet warrior in his corner he'd have been given the necessary and proper advice.

Damn, let's hope your genuis is not overlooked next time if there is ever a rematch and he hires you to come up with an effective gameplan for the fight
Great reply, but really, lets just let them have their little thread, it's all they have now that there saviour to rid the boxing world of Joe was twarted last weekend.

I don't think he lost the Reid fight but if he was as great as some make him out to be he should be absolutely hammering crap like that.

Another thing that pisses me off is Jones' people sent Calzaghe and Warren a contract to fight in 2001 and it was immediately refused. To me that shows he never thought he could beat Jones when he was somewhere near his prime. I mean even if the contract was shite financially, if he would have beat Jones that would have set up huge paydays anyway. Oh well at least he can have a go now he's almost 40. Disgrace!

And you know that how? Do you have proof? a link? a legitimate statement that was on record?

Who in the states even gave a shit about Joe Calzaghe in 2001?

I don't buy that shit for a second. Prove me wrong I'll give you my 100% full credit for the info and i'll rep you as much as I can for a year.

I was a detractor of Calzaghe OPENLY on this site for a long long time, Then I gained respect for him as he beat Bika, Kessler, Hopkins etc... but lately he has done nothing but run off at the mouth about how great he is an insult every fighter out there....His Father is even worse.......

(I would like to see Enzo and Duva go at it...Lou would kick his arrogant ass even at his age)..

So I am losing respect for him...There are plenty fo good fights for him around...Lets fight more and talk less

What's the worst thing Joe has said about any fighter? He gets trash talked all the bloody time and when he gets asked about it he simply has a go back. You can't judge Joe on his fathers words either it has nothing to do with anything.

I am no fan of Joe Ball's at all,he will have a tough time beating Roy Jones jr who just might have one last trick up his sleeve to spoil Joe's ultimate ambition of remaining undefeated.

Calling himself "The Legend Killer?" He beat one legend (with controversy nonetheless) and all of a sudden he's a legend killer? I don't buy it.

He talks all this crap about Pavlik. If he's that overrated or one-dimensional take him out then. Even with the Hopkins loss, Calzaghe and Pavlik will sell.

Joe Calzaghe - "I've Been Listening To Roy Jones Junior Bad-Mouth Me For About Six Or Seven Years!"

In that article it says they were supposed to fight in 01.
Here's another. Judging by the six or seven year comment by Joe, I'd say you should do your homework before jumping at people.
It's pretty obvious "Roy" cared about Calzaghe in 2001.. he's in the states, no?

Calzaghe has been one of my favourite fighters for years. I love to watch him fight. He throws lots of punches, he gets hit, he hits you back some more. He's fast, he can adapt, and he has a big mouth and a bit of an ego.

What is there not to like about Joe Calzaghe??

He is an exceptional fighter. Even with the dodgy hands.

Don't like or dis-like JC, but I wonder why he never gave Sam Soliman a rematch after a close fight? Heard he told Sam he would never fight him again. Any comments?

My mistake that was Howard Eastman, but still, Sam could take him at middle weight.
