Default Anyone here ever use a drawing board?

Considering that after a loss every fighter it seems goes back to his drawing board I was wondering if anyone here owns or has ever used one?

I've never even seen one before?

Where do you buy them, I wonder if they sell them the same place you can buy all those hot cakes?

Surely it would be better to go back to the gym? No wonder you lose a fight if your preparation consists of making nice sketches and architectural plans

I wish someone would come up with a more interesting and fun alternative to the boring drawing board cliche speech which every single fighter makes following a loss.

Instead of going back to the drawing board why not go to the circus or the zoo? Relax, have fun, take a day off and enjoy yourself, then put away your pencils for good and get out your shorts and go to the gym to train.

It's a much better plan imo.

    Hahahahaha!!

The good old drawing board, someone must be making some big money from selling these drawing boards.

I use sand tables and rock drills pretty regularly-- in essence, they're the same thing.

(Not sure if you actually wanted an answer to a potentially sarcastic/rhetorical question, but you got one anyway)

Ah but do you go back to them every time you fail at something?

What's the deal with that, do they have some kind of soothing meditative quality like stress balls?

Maybe we should all have drawing boards in the house so after a shitty day we can sit in front of them and recharge our positivity?

They could even advertise brands on tv as 8/10 boxers prefer our drawings boards to any others!

I can just picture it now, the new craze, everyone sitting in front of their KX100 drawing boards for inspiration because Amir Khan advertised it as the drawing board he used to come back from his KO loss to Breidas Prescott

    Ummmmmmmmmm Bilbo
Almost every construction firm uses drawing boards for designs, and hot cakes are the same thing as pancakes, and without pancakes most of New England would have no industry whatsoever..
And most boxers these days just claim they were poisoned

Not sure about drawing board, but I once had a round tuit. It was great, it made me very productive.

Ha-- yeah, actually we do go back to it no matter the outcome; it's call an AAR (after action review).

etch-a-sketch is where it is at.

I bet if i went and found mine, it'd still have the weird looking stick figure chic with square boobies on it. My last masterpiece.

Amir Khan and Kelly Pavlik have mine at the moment but there will be others.

Actually, yes! They're very helpful and make the next time around easier. I'm a volleyball coach for my former University and if we lose to a team that we will see again later on in the season or if I've scouted a team prior to playing them we always "hit the drawing board."

We figure out our strengths and find a way to use it against their weaknesses, find holes on a team's defense, etc. All with the use of a drawing board. I guess visual aids help atheltes...

Tim Russert used to use one. See what that got him.

    Fucken quality Bilbs...
These are the kind of threads that are funny enough to leave here in the main board?

I use one every day, mine is a dry eraser board.
    Like this one shown here.
It comes with a set of markers and an eraser.

I still haven't used one after a fight. I use mine to set a daily priority/to do list at work.

I had an architectural drawing board with a parallel rule, it's not soothing at all. Reminds me of when I had to hand in the portfolio for end of semester, stressful times. I switched out of the course though so I sold it, to some new sucker who just started architecture.
