Thread: Erik Morales wants fight with JMM

There is an article on BoxingScene where Morales is talking about wanting a fight with Juan Manuel Marquez in May 2009.

Apparently Top Rank wants nothing to do with Morales anymore so he contacted Golden Boy to possibly make this fight happen.

Here are some of the quotes he gave:

-"People saw Morales-Barrera, Barrera-Pacquiao, Morales-Pacquiao, Barrera-Marquez, Marquez-Pacquiao. The only thing missing is Morales-Marquez."

-"I beat Manny and he (Marquez) had two close fights with the Filipino, and a lot of people thought he won. This will be a collision of two guys who beat Pacquiao. Pacquiao claims to be the best in the world, but I don't agree. Although he beat me later on, he never wanted to give me an opportunity to fight him at lightweight - he wanted nothing to do with me there . Making superfeatherweight killed me."

I don't know about Morales coming back to fight Marquez, but I'll sure watch it. Maybe a tune-up fight first at least. And, I thought Morales and Pacquiao were friends? A bit of biterness don't you think? I'm also suprised he didn't take a shot at Barrera.

Either way, I love Morales!!

man idk i think JMM might be too much for erik now, but i would watch it. it doesnt seem like a bad fight to me. and i agree morales should take a tune-up fight before he takes on JMM thats if he does.
