Default Alfred Angulo doesn't want to fight Craig McEwan?

"Last month McEwan was mentioned as a possible opponent for streaking junior middleweight prospect Alfred Angulo for a proposed spot on the Hatton-Malignaggi undercard.

“We accepted the fight right away,” Roach said. “Angulo doesn’t want us."

Angulo doesnt want them because he has bigger fish to fry, he may only have a few more fights than him but he is fighting a way higher class of opponents.

Risk/Reward. McEwan is talented but lacks notoriety.

It seems very clear to me that Angulo's managers are keeping him far away from boxer mover types. I don't even know enough about McEwan to know if that's the case here or if they just have bigger things in mind or not. Apparently they are looking at Mayorga so it would seem that way.

Too much is made of certain fighters not wanting the fight, with Roach saying "Angulo" doesn't want the fight, he's at a point in his career where his management is making his fights, he may not have that much say on who he fights next even if he wanted too, definitely not compared to established names.

I didn't like Angulo all that much on the same card Gamboa, he looked really slow, I can't imagine him fighting a guy with movement anytime soon.

I thought he looked pretty good in the fight against Tsurkan. He isn't super fast, but he packs a big punch.

He has a nice punch variety also.He strikes me as the type who wants to impose himself, willing to take a couple, might make for some entertaining fights. The fight I want is with undefeated power house James Kirkland...that would be a brutal scrap.

Wasn't he on a resent FNF undercard?I remember Roach mention.Sounds like they are going for the big feature name fight with Angulo vs. Mayorga though.McEwan just little Stateside notoriety so far.

McEwan last fought as undercard in the Sept. 27 Mosley-Mayorga fight...

Kirkland is one of the worst fighters I've seen in such a long time.
He's worse than Sam Peters imo.

Agreed, but would love the match (for Angulo ).Kirkland is in dire need of rounds and fine tuning, get away from that chasing heavy bags on a pick up truck stuff Woolfe has him doing for training.I think GBP just signed him and he has Vera up next......thats going to be a train wreck.

BAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!! This McEwan fella thinks he's gonna get Angulo to fight him?

    Are you kidding me?
    Let's see...
    A fight vs. Mayorga
    A fight vs. McEwan
    Hhhmmmm!!!

If anyone hasn't noticed HBOs got money invested there and the last thing HBO will do is bring in McEwan to fight him, nothing against McEwan but the kid needs to figure out another route to the top.

I personally think Angulo vs. JCC should be made. It'd be fucken interesting to see both have about the same speed maybe JCC slightly faster and both like to stand there and trade.
