Well, well, well here we are it's the 3rd Annual Saddo Boxing Awards we are here in at the beautiful Effiel Tower in Paris, France...

Hope everyone had a great Holiday season.

A few things...


We've got 2 floors for the event.

Floor #1: Lounge.
Drinks, appetizers, entertainment, music, dancers etc. etc. etc.
Security is tight here so please Superheavy, SalTheButcher, JTRock watch your drinking and take it easy. Don't want anyone getting arrested on foreign land. Not that were scared of the French or anything as I'm sure they wouldn't even put up a fight vs. the Saddo Army.

We need everyone on their best behavior. Please all the Pacquiao fans reframe yourselves from throwing your panties and mobbing Pac as he arrives. Same applies for the Calzaghe fans remember he's a married man.

I'm here to present this years Saddo Fighter of The Year Award.

With a total of 33 votes this years winner is.....

Manny Pacquiao

Manny had 3 fights this year, wining in a controversial decision over JMM. He then moved up in weight and captured a title in the lightweight div. he then moved up in weight and dominated De La Hoya. He also became P4P #1 fighter in the world.

I'm here to present this years Saddo Fight of the Year Award.

With a total of 17 votes this years fight goes to...

Antonio Margarito vs. Miguel Cotto
"La Batalla"

In a year which we saw Rafa-Izzy III, Mtagwa-Villa, Casa-Kats, Pac-JMM II, USS-Adamek. It comes to no surprise that the winner was decided by just 2 votes apart. This was a MEGA fight that lived up to the expectations and then some.

I'm here to present this years Saddo Round of the Year Award.

With a total of 24 votes this years winner is...

This year we had to choose from ANY round in Rafa-Izzy III, Cotto-Tony Rd. 7 or 2, USS-Adamek Rd. 4, Arce-Concepcion any round, Mtagwa-Villa any round. The popular vote went to this round here.

We saw some spectacular KO's this year. We had Prescott KO'ing Khan, Casas come from behind peach of a left hook over Kats, Urango almost takes Vilches head off with a hook, AA catched Elvin Ayala with a huge shot. Suprisingly Mirandas KO came happened on Jan. 11 just 11 days into 2008 and it stood the test of time.

Manny Pacquiao defeats Oscar De La Hoya

I personally do not see this as upset but it's not up to me, it's what the people here at Saddos voted. In a year where we saw Quintana out hustle and out grit the "unstoppable" Paul Williams, Nate out manuver "Baby Bull" Diaz, Mora slip from Forrest and Vic KO a P4P fighter in Mijares not to mention Hopkins turning the hands of time and schooling Pavlik.

I'm here to present this years Saddo Comeback Fighter of the Year Award.

With a total of 20 votes this years winner is...

Vitali Klitschko

He was inactive for almost 4 yrs. and he comesback out of retirement to dominate Sam Peter and claim the WBC title which he was Emeritus champ of. Nate Campbell had a great return this year, so did Vic Darchinyan and Hopkins.

With a total of 21 votes this years winner is...

"The Dream Match"

Some event this was, a small fighter once a Flyweight moves up to fight above 140 lbs. Some other events, Paulie get's a hair cut in between rounds, Margarito vs. Cotto, JMM-Pac II and Vitali comesback to the ring.

I'm here to present this years Saddo Worst Fight of the Year Award.

With a total of 16 votes this years winner or should I say losers?

And to think that on that night in the arena there was celebreties who were there to see an exciting fight. Just when were getting some of them on our side, of all the fights they chose to see it's this one. Other snoozers this year were Pac-ODLH, Luevano-Dib, Toney-Oquendo, Valuev-Ruiz II, Valuev-Holy, Audley-Arias and Zab-Johnson.

I'm here now to present this years Saddo Prospect of the Year Award.

With a total of 8 votes (which goes to show how diverse we are and how many top prospects are out there) this years winner is...

Yuriorkis Gamboa

There were a total of 16 different prospects nominated, it should be noted that 3 of them actually IMO are no longer prospects and are infact title holders.

The last award of the night is for this years Saddo Robbery of the Year Award.

With a total of 18 votes this years winner is...

Francisco Lorenzo defeats Humberto Soto

This time it wasn't the judges but the ref. Cortez robbed Soto of a victory.We also saw ref. Wright rob Librado Andrade of a win. More recent we saw Holy get put together like a cheap 3 piece suit by judges in Germany. Williams-McDermott got some votes also.

So there you have it the people at SaddoBoxing have spoken...

The votes were counted and the winners were awarded.

A handful of people left categories blank and or like I said only list 1 so if you had 2 names your vote was void. sorry...


Alright well now it's party time, I invite you all to go back down stairs for some drinking, dancing and entertainment...
