    Default Vitali not fighting Gomez??

I thought Vitali was going to fight Gomez and than Haye, but from what I read on ESPN it looks like he is skipping the Gomez fight and going straight for Haye...but this means he may not have the WBC belt when he fights Haye......

    Anyone heard anything different??

Vitali might suggest that JCG wait until after the Haye fight to get his shot....it makes monetary sense for the WBC to let that occur.

Maskaev shouldn't get anymore title shots

Does anyone really want to see Vitali fight Gomez? Gomez is slap-happy and would probably make for a terrible fight. That's my opinion.

I won't be shocked if the WBC has some rule in it's bylaws allowing a beltholder or former belterholder from a lower weight division to get priority over a number one if it judges it to be worthwhile. Since Haye is the former unified CW champ, that probably holds some water. They have Haye rated five, and the number one doesn't always get the shot immediately if there is reasonable justification for another bigger fight to happen. Example - Vitali's "champion emeritus" status that put him in the ring with Sam Peter ahead of others in the rankings.

For Hayes sake I hope it is Gomez and Haye fights Maskaev as an eliminator to get the shot at Vitali.

    Here is my prediction:

The ever corrupt WBC will allow Vitali to fight Haye, then sanction Gomez vs Maskaev for the WBC interim title.

(for those who haven't hear, Maskaev has been promised a shot at the WBC title after Gomez as part of his settlement of his law suit against the WBC)

Gomez should definitly get the shot ahead of Haye, I think the Haye fight would be more entertaining but Gomez has done all his eliminator fights and deserves his shot. Like someone said Gomez should get his shot and have Haye fight Maskaev...

I agree, but I'm sure the WBC is acting within there own corrupt, messed up rules. The word "should" does not exist in the modern heavyweight division. It's OK, though. Maskaev can have his shot have Vitali after Haye gets himself dismantled. Haye would have been wise to fight Maskaev before Vitali to help him get ready. He's going to pay for his impatience and arrogance. I would have given Haye a punchers chance against Wlad, but Dr. Ironchin is a much worse matchup for Haye.

Haye would of had a good chance at beating Wlad. But againt Vitali he is up against someone that hits hard with both hands and has a granite chin.Bad fight for Haye but i give him credit for wanting this fight.

And even then he wouldn't have had a good chance at doing that. Wladimir would whip David Haye's ass
