    Default Jermain Taylor news

ESPN.com has an update on Jermain Taylor. Taylor and promoter DiBella are tossing up some names for his next fight. Carl Froch, Roy Jones Jr., and Glen Johnson are the top candidates. I was actually hoping for a fight with Mikkel Kessler but it doesn't look like he's in the running.

Right. HBO apparently isn't interested in the Froch v. Taylor fight.

Glen Johnson unless he gets old overnight would get up in Taylor's ass.

    the other two he wins.

Actually, DiBella said they might take the fight to Showtime if it turns out to be the best deal. Apparently, Taylor's deal with HBO is over so they can go to competitors. A fight with Jones is a waste of everyone's time.

I don't think so either. Taylor is looking for big fights. Not tune ups

Personaly I'd pay top dollar for a Taylor scrap with Kessler or Andrade.Taylor vs. Froch just does not grab me.Someone needs to "speak truth" To Roy.It's not there any longer.Road warrior Johnson might just be the bull walking through the china shop

Because Froch went life and death with Pascal? Right. I'm sure Taylor, who fought Hopkins (twice), Winky (almost twice), and Pavlik (twice) is terrified of Carl Froch. The guy Taylor just fought and beat in his SMW debut has proven more than Froch (I'm not saying Lacy is necessarily better than Froch, but he's proven more).

Can't see Roy fighting Taylor. He knows he's finished. You could tell by the way he was just content to go 12 against a man he would have schooled back in the day in his last fight.

Well im English and im not on the Carl Froch bandwagon at all, his defense is alarmingly bad. And his reflexes are certainly not cobra like either, to be fair he did have an injury in the Jean Pascal fight so he wasn't 100 percent.

But i've never been sold on the Carl Froch hype i think he is very beatable, by most of the top Super Middleweights. Although i don't think its his fault in the last 2 years why he hadn't stepped it up quicker. Remember he was gonna face Denis Inkin and he pulled out, he's called out Joe Calzaghe/Jermain Taylor.

So its not like he is afraid to fight the best, but i do think he would get taught a lesson from Jermain Taylor if they fight.

I do like Froch's apparent desire to go up against the best, it's respectable. However, much like Oumafan, I'm sick of all the Froch hype. He's proven very little so far IMO and to imply that a former champ who has fought some of the best fighters in the world would be afraid of him is laughable. He has power, but his lack of defense will be his downfall when he steps up is class.

    Froch hype? What hype?

There's a minority on this site that think he's great. The MAJORITY think he's either ordinary or crap.

Lou DiBella said they originally picked Lacy over Froch because a) he was an easier fight and b) they can make more money with Lacy. If HBO still aren't interested in Froch after the Pascal fight - i guess nothings changed.
