Here are a few boxing timers that I use in my home work outs (Right click on the links and then click 'Save As'):

6x3min-1min rest.mp3

6x3min-30sec rest.mp3

6x2min-1min rest.mp3

-Note: there's also a little buzzer that goes off at 30 second intervals during the rounds. Feel free to burn to a cd or add to an mp3 player.

If anybody owns an iPhone, there is an excellent boxing timer to download from the store, in addition I'll make some new mp3 tracks when I get a minute to mimic the dead ones in Chris' post. Enjoy it dudes.

All links are working.

Now included is a 2 minute round. I'll see about adding mirrors and more intervals in the future.

A 30 sec timer would be great in mp3 for ipod...with say 5 sec rests. Is that possible? For tabata protocol bodywork. The reason I put in 5 sec is just from getting from one to another...as usually do 10-12 without stop.

Youngblood, there's a free program you can get called audacity.

It's a really good audio file editor. You also need to download the LAME plug in (I think it does that for you) if you want to save to MP3.

I haven't used it for a while but I'm pretty sure you can use it to record the sound your PC is making (if not just use an audio jack between your audio out socket and your microphone in socket and record from the mic socket)

If you were to use th round timer that I've posted and set it to what ever times and rounds you want I'm pretty sure that you could save it to mp3 and stick it on your player.

Thanks Adam, I'll give that a go. Noticed yours was versatile in arranging times, but ya on the PC. Might have to dig up or buy a cheap mic tho, no biggie. I've been doing it with a person sitting there counting 1000-1, 1000-2, haha...as I keep forgetting to bring even a hand held timer from the gym home...so figure if I can get an mp3 set right and find a good rythme, that'd be the best option.

u shouldn't need a mic mate, your PC speakers probably already have the wire you need:


They're usually green, just plug one end into your speaker out and another into your mic in socket.

That's asuming aduacity won't just record what ever sound is on youe pc anyway, i'll have a poke about
