Barrera has no quit in him, so I hope that Khan knows he is going to have to fight a fighter that brings a good variety to the table... of course along with a complete legacy. In reality, Barrera has taken less time off in retirement than some active fighters! I am picking Barrera for this one.

So, to me, Khan losses to the slugger and then to the technician.
    Yes, a jab.

I can only forsee Barrera getting stopped if, he had bad sushi the night before, a biased british ref jumps in as soon as Khan throws a 3-punch combo or allah is seeking revenge after the Naz incident.

I'm pretty sure Warren gets to renegotiate the terms of Khan's contract if he loses two fights during it.

The chronology went like this :

Khan's first contract finished and Warren offered him a big money second contract to beat out offers from elsewhere.

Khan got starched in 54 seconds. Maybe there was one fight in between signing the contract and Prescott but essentially Khan became worth much less commercially just after he'd signed to Warren for big money. Warren's initial reaction to the sparking was illuminative in this respect.

Khan then does another Sky PPV against an Irish roadsweeper.

Probably the numbers were so bad from that PPV/ticket sales were rubbish so that Warren was stuck with the fact that Khan against a no name isn't going to cut the mustard for Sky PPV customers and paying punters. He can only do it with quality opposition, hence Barrera. And if it's true that Khan's contract can be renegotiated if he loses twice then it's a win-win for Frank. He does a big promotion and makes lots of money. Khan either wins which gives him credibility and makes him worth his contract or he loses and spends the rest of the contract fighting for relative buttons on the undercard of Warren's shows.

The folk who think Barrera has a chance against Kahn are being stitched up. I see a gradual beatdown and a late stoppage.

Of course when that happens i'll give it ten minutes before a 'Barrera is shot' thread appears on here.

Khan will get zero credit for this win from a lot of people because the fight won't even be close.

Barrera believes he can/will win. That's good enough for me.

If by some horror he doesn't it still won't change the fact no one likes Khan and any fighter at lw with a solid punch wrecks his career.

Its hard to say... was Ricky being fed to the lions in the KT fight ?

was Joe being stuck in with lacy?

they were 2 fights similar to this one IMO where not many gave joe or ricky a chance beforehand and after just put it down to KT being shot and Lacy being overated... but before they met this was never the case.

but lets face it Khan is in no way PPV and should not be PPV even before the loss.... but i'm guessing Warren has spent a packet to get him with SN and needs to cash in somewhere and hats off he's still doing it.

for me matching Khan with Barrera was a masterstroke... he's lighter and shot but unfortunatly for them he looks well up for this fight and i can't see khan winning in this 2 hit fight

    Barrara hits Khan
    Khan hits the deck

He's not got a great chin. He always seems to get caught high on the temple to be honest but yeah his punch resistance is pretty weak.

Still offensively he is very good and he'll be too fast for MAB at this stage in his career.

His offense has never been a problem though. Defense combined with shockingly poor punch resistance is the problem.

Maybe he will show a big improvement under Roach second time. I think he'll need too.

Barrera can't be anymore shot than Gomez was and is a hundred times better. If Barrera turns up to win Khan's had it.
