Yeah but i don't think the Gomez fight was particularly close nor do i believe that Kahn was in any trouble....maybe other than the body shot he took. There wasn't much in the knockdown...even though Duke MacKenzie tried to make out Kahn was on queer street.

I just think he's got Barrera at the right time. I know all about Kahn's weaknesses and frailties but i still think he has enough about to him to see off Barrera at this stage of his career. Kahn has all the advantages apart from experience, and the speed advantage will be the killer.

I was one of the few that called the PAC-ODLH fight correctly and i see a similar thing happening...albeit slightly more competitive.

I'm glad some on here think it will be close though. Should help Sky with their PPV sales.

Barrera has most likely slid since his heyday. But I don't look at him as a particularly old, shopworn fighter. Even in the loss against Marquez, I think he looked excellent in parts. And against Pac he fought totally within himself, but won rounds when he tried and certainly didn't come near to a repeat KO or an Oscar style quitting. He took some time off and has beaten a couple of bums.

To say that Barrera is ready for the taking or what have you is somewhat odd to me because I see no indication that Barrera is actually shot. Khan is the one with way more question marks about him if we are going to go off recent showings. Judging by the pictures Barrera looks like he is taking this one seriously. He's lost the little belly and looks in great shape, a focussed Barrera will give Khan fits.

I can see Khan coming out and boxing smart for a couple of rounds. But once Barrera has worked him out and lands something meaningful, I can see Khan faltering and getting second thoughts (if he doesn't just crumble that is! ).

If ODLH had not gone mental and made the fight at a stupid weight....hindsight. Ah well.

So apart from the jab that wobbled Khan (Barrera has a good jab), the straight right hand (Barrera has a good one) and the hook to the head and body that hurt him (you can see where this is going) Khan has this one stitched up. He just has to avoid getting hit for 12 rounds in every fight. Piece of cake. The boy will go far.

I'm a Saddo Prediction comp champion. Fact. Put that in yer pipe sucker.

If you think this is so easy for Khan you must think he's way above Brit/Euro class? Recently getting knocked sparkout by a fellow prospect in 54 seconds would suggest otherwise

Fenster you are forgetting that Prescott is a bigger puncher than Naz or Pac. FACT

That punch would have created a tsunmai like wave that would have wiped out New York if Khan hadn't manfully put his face in the way and saved us all.

I don't believe in Brit/Euro class as an indicator for Kahn's ability. He's such a mixed bag.

It's a vague expression to say somebody is Euro class. Graham Earl would have surely been classed as euro class, yet Kahn destroyed him. There are certain fights at that level that would be easy for Kahn and certain fights that would be hard (Thaxton, Romanov etc...)

Kahn is just going to be way faster than MAB. That will be the difference.

Kahn has world class qualities and Brit level weaknesses. Unfortunatley for Barrera, in this kind of fight it will be Kahn's world class qualities that will be too much for him imo.

I said he's got domestic level weaknesses and his punch resistance would fall into this category.

But if you're only going to look at where he has been hurt you should also look at where he has been exceptional offensively....which he has been on numerous occasions.

Then you have to weigh it all up against the strengths of his opponent. Barrera was a very good fighter but Kahn isn't in against the prime version of Barrera. He's up against the Barrera who is probably on par with the Castillo that Hatton fought in 07. It's not a completely shot fighter, but he's also not at his best.

Throw in all the physical advantages that Kahn has and barring Barrera hitting the jackpot, the most likely outcome is a comprehensive victory imo. That's what i'm basing my prediction on. I'm not ignoring Kahn's obvious weaknesses, i just honestly don't see this Barrera being quick and decisive enough to expolit them.

Thing is Khan will have to engage Barrera st some point and i can see it now....
Barrera grins and batters the f*ck out of him.
Khans way, way out of his depth here i'm afraid.

ono, I agree it is doable for Khan if he sticks out the jab and runs and then grabs on for dear life when Barrera gets in close, however, I don't think he is mature enough to stick to any plan for 36 minutes, let alone in his first proper big fight, against the biggest name he has faced, with the crowd against him (check all the boards).

    He falters and gets stopped.

I agree it's sink or swim time for him.

I think he'll do it and do it well. We'll see anyway.

Khan will get zero credit for this win from a lot of people because the fight won't even be close.
Sounds about right. Every British fighter who defeats a big name is never given credit by the worldwide public, they just automatically label the opponent as shot or overrated. Tsyzu, Castillo, Lacy, Hopkins, etc all come to mind in recent history, among many others.

I think Khan is also underrated by just about everyone who call thereself a hardcore boxing fan... I see Khan winning by stoppage or UD, although more likely a easy UD.

This is Khans problem and always has been.
He likes to mix it and have a tear up too much ala Joe Calzaghe.
Thing is Joe had a granite chin and Khan doesn't and never will have.
He can't help himself when he wants to crowd please.
Inexperience..? (maybe) and your right we will see soon enough but unless Roach has had him on some sort of "Chin Gym" or seriously and dramatically got him fighting differently and to a plan that he'll stick too i don't see him lasting past the 5th round.

Khan is no way on the level of a Ricky Hatton nor a Joe Calzaghe though and those are your reference points. Calzaghe had been a champ years before the Lacy fight. And Hatton had fought far better opposition than Khan too. Neither Calzaghe nor Hatton had lost prior to their major fights. Could you imagine them two stopped in 54 seconds against...who exactly? Khan is a fraud and I pity the British public buying into this shit. The best thing for everyone is if an old Barrera stomps on him. And he most likely will.
