Default got nothing but respect for J. Diaz

“I didn’t underestimate him at all because I knew he was very good, but he showed me something tonight,” Diaz said. “Marquez is a great champion.”

he's always taking on the best, and makes no excuses in defeat, real class act

Tell you what... This kid losses some of that desire to be impetuous and uses his jab, he's going to get to the top of that p4p list.... he looked good condition wise and going through school and the same time. That is impressive!

Did you notice he lose some of that baby fat? I think were going to see him more up to welter if he build some more lean mass.

I cant see Diaz getting anywhere near the top of p4p list, watching him last night i think shows he struggles when he is backed up he is not the same fighter on the back foot, hes a gutsy fighter but i think against the top guys he gets found out, great fight and effort though. I still saw the fat aswell around his hips and his man breasts were ever peresent.

Diaz is a warrior! He is great for the sport, and he is one of the few fighters who is never in a bad fight.

J.Diaz is no doubt still has bright future in boxing.

But I think he didn't really learn that much from his fight with Campbell.

He got cut again by JMM. And again, Diaz lost his spirit.

I don't think Diaz lost his spirit when he was cut. Marquez took advantage of it.

Diaz is still very young and there is no shame in losing to Marquez. His future is still bright and everyone loses in their career. He went down, but he went down fighting...

A Pac-fan spouting completely bullshit? I just don't believe my eyes.

How did he lose his spirit? Explain that, because I think he showed a great deal of spirit and heart. He was fighting every bit as hard in the last round as he was in the first round, he was just getting tagged more and figured out as the fight went on. He was bothered by the cut, and it definitely inhibited his vision, but to say it made him lose his spirit is ridiculous. I gained a ton of respect for Diaz and the way he fought last night.

Edit: Like Spicoli said, if his spirit was so broken, why did he get up from the 1st KD? He could've easily taken a 10 count.

His spirit never left him, even when he was pulling himself off his face and yelling 'yeah' to the ref to continue. All heart, all pressure and an inspiration to up & comers inside and outside of the ring.I do think he is at the peak of where hes going in total skill.Frontal, vulnerable but will take the best of Champions to the very brink.

That avatar really explains your agenda, either that or your deep down secret desires.??

This isnt the end for Diaz - He gave the #2 p4p 1 of his toughest fight ever......Diaz needs to tighten up his defense and work in more head movement..........

Come on dude! He just got hit with some hard punches. He didn't lose his spirit. He got rocked a couple of rounds before and came back and fought strong till he got ko'd. He kept coming forward, kept punching, just slowed down a bit. That's natural.

Diaz reminds me of Vargas, with the high guard but he is not as skillful, but he has the same heart.

Diaz at only 25 is already 34-2 (17 KO's), and he's also a part time student

and his resume doesn't fail to impress either...

    Jose Miguel Cotto
    Acelino Freitas
    Julio Diaz
    Nate Campbell
    Michael Katsidis
    Juan Manuel Marquez

(and from Freitas down are all back to back)

if that's not taking on the best around i don't know what is

Anyone that is discrediting Diaz's performance needs their heads examined, he gave every bit his all and went out on his sheild, seriously
what more could you want from him? He made an exciting fight, I had it pretty even until that last round. Diaz is pure class and shows exactly why he at one time held all those straps.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
