Smile Mora vs Pavlik in June or July

Okay, let's get this out of the way, because I know a lot of you will start hating on Sergio, and hoping for his demise.

I heard from Sergio earlier today, and he let me know that he was in Vegas yesterday, and he came to terms with, and signed off on fighting Pavlik at the end of June or July, in Atlantic City.

They are just waiting for Pavlik and his team to sign off on the deal, which will supposedly happen next week.

I'm just really pissed off, because Arum has been saying for weeks that Kelly's next fight will be here in Cleveland, and now the rat b@stard went and changed sites on me. It would have been so perfect for me to have Sergio come here to fight.

I found out afterwards, that Arum is possibly thinking of doing another split site PPV, with the other main event coming out of Mexico. Which sounds to me, that Arum is lining up a fight for Margacheato in Mexico. I'll try to get more on that from Sergio this weekend. I hope that's not true, because I will never support Margacheato ever again, and it sucks that he will be on the same card as Sergio and Pavlik. I'll have a hard time with that one.

Plus, if it's true about it being Margacheato, I think he would be a complete dumbass to thumb his nose at the California Commission. I don't think they would be all too happy to reinstate him if he does. Which actually, might be a good thing, IMO, because I don't think one year is enough for a man who has no regard for the health and safety of another human being.

Obviously, I'm nervous about this fight, yes I'm friends with, and will always support Sergio, but I'm not blind to his limitations. I know he'll never knock Kelly out, but I think his awkward style will give Kelly some problems. Sergio has been wanting this fight for a long time, so I think he just might rise to the occasion, and do a lot better than you guys think he will.

It's a shame that a lot of you guys don't like him, because I know, that if you ever got the chance to talk to him, and get to know him, you would really like him. He really is a very down to earth and humble guy.

So, come on guys, get it out of the way now.

I'll have to send an email to Leftylee, and laugh at him, because he can't stand Sergio, and now since he asked Saddo to ban him for 6 weeks, he can't come in here and hate on him.

Based on recent performances I think this fight will be competitive. A Mora win actually wouldn't even shock me. Pavlik had shown he's clearly one-dimensional.

Good choice for Kelly. Relatively easy fight, against a fighter that a few casual fans will remember.

Mora tends to fight to par with the opposition no matter who he fights. Reguardless of what people think about him, he can fight and he has a good chin. I dont know if hell beat Pavlik, but he can outbox him imo.

I can see Mora frustrating the shite out of Pavlik for a while.Pavlik has shown no improvements to me.I just dont think sergio has the firepower to ultimatly keep Pavlik off...think Pav would be better suited going to the body big time rather than head.

Yeah, I can see Mora having some success early, but not able to keep Pavlik off towards the later rounds. Hopefully it won't turn into an ugly Mora "trying to survive" mess. I'm a little surprised at this match up, but I guess there're not too many name MWs, other than AA; which has been discussed ad nauseam? Wasn't there talk of Duddy a while back? I guess he's not ready, if he'll ever be.

Just like Antonio Tarver? I don't think so, Hopkins was just the worst opponent for him in the world.

Arum revealed that the June or July next title defense for middleweight champion Kelly “The Ghost” Pavlik is going to be against Sergio Mora. It will be part of a huge PPV TV show which will include bouts taking place in Mexico.

So this means they will be fighting on the Margarito card.

If Sergio can borrow Tony's PLASTER, Sergio will have no problem putting some lumps on Kelly's head

I like both these fighters and each should know how to beat the other but who will have a better game plan? I hope it turns out to be a good fight though. I wonder who Margacheater is going to be facing?

? How does that even make sense. I was drawing the comparison of them against Hopkins, he brings out any flaw any fighter has. Only guy he wasn't able to do that agianst was Roy Jones.

Arum is such a prick, whatever happened to the unification match with Abraham. Unlike most others on here I ain't got a problem with Mora, but for me he's a LMW, & it shows how pathetically they're playin it safe with Pavlik after the B-Hop loss. One thing I'll say is I bet you don't see Cotto going for a rematch with Zab Judah in his next fight, he'll at least take on Mosley or Clottey. Seriously since the Taylor wins, the only good opponent Pavlik has been up against is Hopkins & look what happened there. Gary Lockett, Marco Antonio Rubio & Sergio Mora are just not good enough fights for a guy who is supposedly the best Middleweight in the world. If he is he should fight Abraham & it seems clear to me Top Rank are just waiting till the point that Abraham can no longer stay at the weight. This has pissed me off big time.

I have to agree. Arthur Abraham was the fight I wanted to see but, both Hopkins and Abraham are two of the best defensive fighters in the game and we all saw how many clean shots Pavlik landed against Hopkins, what was it like two? Abraham is all wrong for Pavlik and I hate to admit it but the smurf is one of the most patient fighters in the ring today and Pavlik would probably never land that many clean shots against Abraham either.

I think the same, but its not as if Pavlik wouldn't stand a chance, for me it would be close to a 50-50 fight. What's pissin me off is he had his one comeback fight to get over the loss, dominated his opponent & now he should be getting back to fighting quality opposition. Cotto (who I had thought would be more damaged by defeat than Pavlik) came back had a sort of warm-up, comeback fight against Jennings & is now getting back to fighting serious quality opposition. Clottey is a dangerous opponent to be facing, and I got a lot of respect for Cotto if that goes through. Even after Hatton got KTFO by PBF, he fought a comeback fight against Lazcano then fought the guy The Ring rated as the next best guy in the division. Seriously Pavlik needs to step up again fast coz I think Arum is just ridin his current popularity wave
