    Default What's Next For Juanma?

I am sure the folks at HBO were happy with the performance of Juan Manuel "Juanma" Lopez. After all, he added new dimensions to his game: a high work rate and unbelievable stamina. Those punchstat numbers in the 6th and 8th rounds were ungodly and otherworldly. Though I doubt that Lopez is dumb enough to fall to the temptation of engaging consistently in this type of style of boxing, it certainly was a pleasant surprise that he indeed has it in him. It's time for HBO or the powers that be to make the great matchups possible at 122 or 126 that involve Lopez. Lopez should fight Vazquez (not Marquez, since Vazquez won two of three) and then Caballero (or vice versa) and then move up to 126 and fight Gamboa next year.

He looked real good last night. I wouldn't mind seeing him take on Bernard Dunne for his next fight to tide him over, before then taking on Marquez. He hasn't earnt the shot at Vazquez yet IMO, and I think he should steer well clear of Caballero. If he beat Rafa, then he should go for Izzy.

I think he beats all three of them.

Well , let see , it suppose to be Marquez i think , because is the #1 in this organization and probably move up and D`Leon is #2 , but i don't think he want a rematch now , i heard that his trainer Joe Hernandez commented that he would not make that fight not even in 126 pnds. , so is more probably that is Vazquez , i would prefere him would be a great war...................... Regard Gamboa hmmm , another great fight , in this case Juanma need to be more cautious , Gamboa is more faster and is hard puncher too , but i do not discard that he could be KO , he don't have good chin to assimilate Juanmas punch...........

Caballero has a mandatory defense against Mathebula on schedule and a planned fight against Yuriorkis Gamboa at 126 in the near future provided both Caballero and Gamboa defeat their respective next opponent...

Rafa Marquez has a tune-up fight as undercard of a J-Gonz main event title fight against a Japanese champ. Probably Rafa will face J-Gonz down the road if both will be victorious...

That leaves Izzy as the only available opponent and I love this match-up... I think JuanMa is ready to take on Vazquez...

i think hes too big to be 122.. he should go up to 126 and fight whoever is there. i want him to fight gamboa coz that will teach gamboa to learn some defense

rafa, izzy or caballero. any of the three will do. i think he has a better chance of beating vasquez than the other 2 though. but all 3 matchups would be a barnburner.

I think Izzy adn Rafa are now where to be found. These guys have dropped off the radar... Time to start thinking of "real" possible opponents. I think we should let Ponce De Leon have a quick rematch in a few weeks just to keep the gloves warm. I feel a reaaally long layoff coming up. Ensuing negotiations breaking down with everyone.. Nobody is gonna want to fight this guy!

I think he has the potential to be top 3 , p4p , he really doesnt seem to have any weaknesses at this point.
    excellent power.
    good chin.
    loads of stamina.
    throws lots of punches.

The future is bright indeed for this young man.

theres not a hope in hell Dunne will even consider fighting him, Dunne will go back to making money fighting c class fighters... as for JuanMa I think he'll be p4p #1 in a couple of years, I really can't think of anyone that could beat him...

IMO Juanma shouldn't take Vazquez on yet, Vazquez should be allowed a tune-up especially after his long time out of the ring, Lopez should take on Jhonny or if Gonzalez takes on R. Marquez, than Lopez should fight the winner at the end of the year, maybe taking on a decent opponent in the summer, and then making the move up to Featherweight next year

I've said it too. I have major confidence in this kid. And he's my new favorite fighter hands down.

Still think his chin could be tested a bit more but it isn't like Penalosa's feather fisted, he got Ponce's attention at 122 and IMO beat Ponce.

I don't think Vazquez or Marquez will ever be the same again after the trilogy. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them never fights again, Vazquez may never recover from his detatched retina and Marquez was having dizzy spells when he started training again. Definitely can't see either of them wanting to fight JuanMa first fight back either.

Izzy and Rafa are not that much threat to him imo. But I can see Caballero giving him all sorts of problems.
