Default Would you favor a Amir Khan vs. Ricky Hatton fight down the road?

If Khan defeats WBA 140 champ Kotelnik and if Ricky decides to fight on, would you favor a Amir Khan vs. Ricky Hatton fight down the road?

Vote in the poll... and discuss...

link --> David Haye voted "YES"...

"Haye also believes Hatton against Amir Khan is a natural fight to be made. "If I was in Ricky Hatton's shoes the fight I would most probably go for is Amir Khan. That is a natural fight. Fingers crossed that Khan beats Andreas Kotelnik [the WBA light-welterweight champion] the week after my fight..."

    not really bothered...

if Khan wins everyone will say Hattons shot

if Ricky wins everyone will say so what he beat chinny Khan

    so its pretty pointless IMO

    but i'd still watch it

i still feel this is the fight that will happen because Ricky will see it as a massive step down and easy money and Khan will look at it as another fading champ to pad the record so both fighters will be up for it and both camps will be confident of a win so it will deffo happen.

fight i'd like to see is Hatton vs Witter but that is years overdue and we will never see it and that is a total shame regardless of the whys or whats and whateve the faitful hatton followers say this is a fight that should have happened.

Fair assessment Boss Saddo (good that I included a "I don't care" option in the poll choices )...

Hatton vs. Witter is long overdue... and I think at this stage of Ricky's career, the more that Ricky won't let Witter get a fight with him...

This fight always looked a natural to me. Too much money NOT to do it.

But I'd like to see Hatton retire. No scrap that - why do i give a funk if he retires or not?

If Hatton continues that's the fight i'd like to see. It would be MASSIVE in Britain. A great occasion.

I think Ricky should retire because I really don't think he's got it any more. At the moment he can say 'I lost to the two best fighters of my generation, two undisputed ATG blah blah blah etc' but a defeat to any of the guys he would be fighting now would damage him much worse. To be honest, he's looked so brutally inefficient at dealing with any kind of speed now that I really don't think Khan is a good match-up for him. We'll see how Khan looks against Kotelnik, but Ricky's reflexes and punch resistance are so faded now thanks to messrs. Tszyu, Urango, Mayweather and Pacquiao, that I would honestly expect most decent light-welters to beat him. I would like the Witter fight, but again I think he would get beaten, and if he fights anything like he fought against Manny he would get KTFO again. Then it would be Lee Beard's fault because he's inexperienced and Team Hatton would no doubt sack him

He has only lost to 2 P4P#1 fighters so why risk losing to a lesser fighter i would just hang up the gloves now.

    Easy night for Khan.

He either gets blown out early or he takes the piss and boxes Hatton's fat head off.

I'd put my money on Khan. Roach knows how to beat Hatton, and Hatton can't deal with speed.

Hatton wont be able to handle Khan's speed at this point IMO.

I would have tendency to say the same... I think that being hit too often just blew his gas tank and that any important fights at this stage would be way too dangerous for him.

hatton in his prime would destroy khan and i get the feeling khans reluctancy to box off the back foot would get him into big trouble if he fought hatton.

Ricky wont fight again UNLESS its a mega rich showdown in the states again.

Whether his sellability would be enough to convince HBO to put him in with a mayweather or marquez is another question. A final hurrah in manchester against bradley is the only other logical fight left for ricky

omfg. Do you honestly believe Khan has the punching power to ko Hatton?
He has gone back to his amateur style. He is not at all accurate for the number of punches he throws and does not have top level power...people must really think Hatton has gone down the shitter and in a big way.

    And I ain't a Hatton fan

I don't want to see it. It would give Khan instant credibility and I swear some people would claim he is P4P. Khan has taken an easy root to a world title shot and while I see it as a smart move, I think he's taking the piss out of the boxing fan. If he beats Kotelnik, he should fight Ortiz or move back to lightweight and fight a live body. Ricky shouldn't fight on, especially against a fighter with great handspeed who is trained by Freddie Roach.
