Default Bradley vs Guzman, in the works for August 1st.

Just saw this on fightnews, guess it isn't confirmed yet but the offer was made to Guzmans people and his manager accepted on his behalf, Joan would be an idiot not to accept or price himself out etc. Damn good fight if it's made, I really like Guzman and think he would probably be to slippery for Bradley but you have to give him big respect for making this happen assuming it goes through. What do people think? I really haven't seen a whole lot of Bradley, thought he looked completely beatable against Holt myself, if Kendall just had fought with a bit more fire, he was the better athlete of the two, and Guzman has far more talent than he does.

Bradley is a quality boxer. I thought he undersold himself in the Holt fight as I thought he'd win easy. Guzman hasn't had many fights at 135 so 140 could be a big step up, but Bradley is hardly a puncher so it'll come down to who is the better boxer. If Guzman still has his speed, I could see him sneaking it, but I'd never count Bradley out. Awesome fight between two guys who are both undefeated. Hope it comes off.

Bradley is a really good fighter, a solid fighter who is good if not exceptional in every area. But I agree with you, Guzman is of a different class and if he chooses not to be hit then he won't be hit. I worry about him opening up to much and maybe Bradley could land one of those counter right hands of his to put Guzman in trouble but yeah, I'd go for Guzman and given Guzman's rock bottom stock right now, it surprises me they would go for him.

Down the line a bit, but if he wins then it seems only fair that Guzman gives Campbell a shot at the belt right? Would be funny and a bit of a happy ending.

Guzman is linked with everyone but nothing happens. He has most likely missed the boat for the bigtime, sadly.

Don't know how the weight will suit him but Guzman can easily outbox Bradley, but he sure better be fit, he'll be moving for 12 rounds.

All this depends on whether or not Guzman makes weight this time.

Guzman is one of the best defensive fighters out there and should be able to outbox Bradley. But he's been out of the ring for a while.

Love Guzman, and he's always had problems with the weight so maybe he would be ok for JWelter. Interesting fight, although if this gets made it would appear that there is a lack of interest in fightin Bradley, who i don't really see as bein that good a champ at 140 and is beatable definately. Could work out a cheeky one for Guzman, just don't quite get why Bradley would wanna fight him, nothin for Bradley to gain from that atall.

Yeah I just watched him fight Witter, Bradley is solid no doubt. For me though the same goes for that fight, Junior just didn't fight with much flare and isn't nearly as dynamic as Guzman. I just see something sort of lacking in Bradley, highly doubt he'll be able to establish a rythym the same way against Guzman and he doesn't seem to have much one punch snap. He definetly has the warrior mentality and grit, plus an excellent workrate which makes this a very exciting matchup for me, real oppourtunity for Guzman to shine imo. Thought it was very surprising as well that he would actually target Guzman at this point, you'd have to assume that alone makes this nearly a done deal, Joan would be stupid to turn this down even for peanuts.

This fight will be at 140 and I expect Guzman to make weight or else he'll be forgotten forever... Both are not really big puncher so it might boil down on who can outlast who... The 25 year old Bradley has big advantage in age/youth/stamina department over the 33 year old Guzman...

    Not gonna happen

WBO rejected it according to boxingscene

Didn't he get rejected for his last fight too, it seems like it was maybe against a British fighter but I can't remember who.

Oh well, there was a time when I thought Guzman was just about to cross over into being a bit of a star (I really wanted to see Guz-Pacman, talk about one guy moving up and one guy falling off the face of the earth) but its nobody's fault but his. I was (and still am strangely enough) a big fan but it seems like its pretty much over for him.

Not to mention he's 33 years old with a history of ballooning up in weight so who knows if he even is the same fighter of a few years ago.

Im in pretty much the exact same boat, I actually predicted that Guzman would beat Pac but yeah, you never know.

I guess there is always Jose Guzman to look forward to. He did catch a bad break with the WBO waiting around for Scott Harrison though which took a lot of time out of his areer. To bad that Campbell fight never went through.
