Punch Power: 991 | | Re: Ezzard Charles - Lessons from the Old School... Wow, that was beautiful Dadi. There was a lot that I didn't know. Ezzard Charles is definitely a boxing textbook worth studying. I loved that you chose Ezzthetic as the background music.
Anyways, a while back Thomas Tabin explained that nifty left hook set-up that Charles used. You can read that thread here: The Safe Left Hook

They've actually removed the original audiotrack now. I started with a Charles Mingus bass solo (because Charles himself was a competent bass player) and then it segued into Ezzthetic (my erstwhile internet handle).
I had to use the audioswap feature and put in White Flight by Putter Smith. It fit admirably enough, but I'm a little sad the original music was barred. |

Punch Power: 991 | | Re: Ezzard Charles - Lessons from the Old School... It turned out great, Dadi. It's a good tribute to a great fighter. I think that it would be a good idea to apply a similar formula to other fighters. That is highlighting the hidden gems which made them great. |

Marciano fought out of a defensive crouch, and wasn't the easiest fighter to hit. I think Joe Louis said that Marciano was young, strong and hard to hit. He was also an ardent admirer of Willie Pep.
If you enjoy these kinds of videos, I recommend watching the clips put together by Monte Cox. Excellent stuff! |
