Default Khan makes racism claim - "I'd be a Superstar if I was white"

Amir Khan is quoted saying that if he was white and had achieved what he'd done he'd be a superstar in Britain. His dad is however disagreeing with him, and Khan might do well in listening to him.

BBC Sport - Amir Khan claims he suffers bigotry, father disagrees

Personally, I think that Khan needs to get his head in gear, and actually focus on what he has achieved already.

Yes, he did well in the Olympics, and yes he is the holder of a world title. However, he did get knocked out in under a minute against Breidis Prescott. Also, some might suggest that he was fortunate to be given the world title fight against Kotelnik (Warren had already dealt with him as part of Gavin Rees' fight..a suggestion for the conspiracy theorists) with others around who merited the shot more. Since Hatton retired Khan is the only one with a boxing pay-per-view deal in the UK. Especially with Froch unable to get a proper TV deal, I think Khan is out of order, and needs his dad to get his ego in check.

And i'd be able to get a job if i was polish and had 6 kids, but lifes tough isn't it ? but seriously i wonder what all the guys that were calling the race card, are going to say about this comment.

Just a bit of advice for Amir Khan if he's reading this, actually take some risks.

    Marcos Rene Maidana
    Devon Alexander
    Mike Alvarado
    Lamont Peterson
Bredis Prescott vs Kevin Mitchell winner

    ETC.

Fight any of these then you might get a bit more respect, its nothing to do with skin colour. I like fighters from all different countries. It's just people are sick of having to shell out money, for smoke and mirror's fights. Like this one your taking now. And then you being hyped up as the next coming of god, which isn't your fault.

Obviously thats the people hyping you up, but take on some legit opponents we want to see you vs some punchers. The only one you took on sparked you out in 60 seconds, if you have improved then you should be able to beat limited punchers like Marcos Rene Maidana, Breidis Prescott.

And i would just like the point out a few more things.

    Nigel Benn
    Chris Eubank
    Frank Bruno

Were all superstars in Britian and they wern't white. Race has got nothing to do with it what so ever, of course to some people it will be about race. But you get that in any sports, but for the majority of the real boxing fans like myself, we just want to see you in with some legit opposition.

Hes all ready a superstar & a millionaire, what more does he want really. Yes racism is a issue but it hasnt stopped or had an adverse effect on his career, maybe just a mental thing.

Khan claims: "I never get racist remarks but it's always out there which you can't stop. You just live and learn about what people are like. I just choose to ignore them."

If he never gets racist remarks then what on earth is he talking about? I'm sure there are racists who dislike him for his skin tone, but there are a lot of other people who dislike him for a whole bunch of other reasons. PPV on the back of achieving very little for the early period of his career, careful management by Warren and a diet of smaller men moving up, his big mouth, and his dodgy win over Barrera.

I personally dislike him mainly for the Barrera debacle, but he never ceases to to amaze me with the utter stupidity he is all too prone on spouting. I must be a racist for disliking him....the clueless prat!

    yawn

Eubank, benn, hamed, conteh, harrison, witter = theyve all played the race card at some time or another

Its the sort of ignorant comment that will turn white working class fans against him even more. Good on the old man for telling him to keep his trap shut before he really drops a bollock!!

What an a**hole for saying that. The guy had a billboard and had his pockets lined up before he even turned pro. These athletes can take the race card and shove it up their a**. Ungrateful prick

This pissed me off no end.

I don't like Khan, and I hate the way he, and his team, go about running his career. I actively want him to lose tonight, just the same as I want the other victim of racism in Britain to lose whenever he steps into the ring, Ordinary Harrison. But none of my dislike towards these two people has anything to do with the colour of their skin. Frank Warren is quoted as saying he had to take Khan to Sky Box Office to get him the money he was demanding. This never-beat-anyone-never-fought-anyone-olympic-final-losing-novice had such a high opinion of himself that he was demanding world-class level money.

I dislike Lewis Hamilton because he ran off to Switzerland to swim in a pool of cash a la Scrooge McDuck rather than to pay tax for such trivial things as hospitals; but again this has nothing to do with the colour of his skin.

I don't doubt that their is a certain element of the old Minter v Hagler boxing type who may dislike Khan but come on... this clown thinks that if he was white he would be a superstar!? Well, would being white harden up your glass jaw? Of course it wouldn't.

Come on Salita put us, and him out of our misery.

My favourite fighters of all time (in no particular order)?

    1. Muhammad Ali (Black/Muslim)
    2. Marco Antonio Barrera (Hispanic)
    3. Joe Calzaghe (White)
    4. Nigel Benn (Black)
    5. Roberto Duran (Hispanic)
    6. Marvin Hagler (Black)

    Yeah... Nice one Amir.

Almost forgot: Khan's last fight 30,000 buys. Haye's last fight 1,000,000 buys

Just when I don't think I can dislike Amir Khan anymore than I already do the TWAT comes out with the race card. That is a fucking disgraceful in my opinion.

I'll tell you why I really don't like Khan....

After the olympics he was given EVERYTHING on a plate by sky and warren. Even with a heafty pay check, brilliant amateur pedigree, and the best full time training he was still fighting blown up, has been feather and super feather weights and various other part time tomato cans. And he was was struggling....

The barrera fight.... I can't believe they actually tried to talk this fight up, it was a complete mis match from the start. Barrera was old and past it (no offence to the guy I think he's a legend) and he'd never fought up at that weight before. It was tosh from the out set. But.... Khan still feels the need to walk in their with his trunks pulled up to his neck and if thats not a big enough piss take, Barrera get's cut due to a head clash and can't fight properly. The cut happened within the first four rounds it should have been a no contest and had the boot been on the other foot it would have been, but khan still took the win and behaved like he'd beat a prime tyson. And what really capped this bullshit off for me was they started discussing morales!?

The Breidis Prescott fight. Finally he got in with someone a similar age and size to him. Prescott hadn't been given the silver spoon treatment and bang look what happened. Why did our hero not demand an imediate rematch?.......

He ran away, moved up a weight division and fought the easiest lightest punching light welterweight chump he could find.

Khan doesn't behave like a champion and he doesn't fight like a champ. He's a fucking coward that has his fights organized for him to win.

Salita on the other hand has been given nothing and has had to fight and fight and fight and got very little in return. I hope the guy makes the most of what could be his one and only shot.

I can't see Khan fighting the winner of Prescott and mitchell. Well maybe if mitchell wins, but then mitchell spent the vast majority of his career at super feather.

And that was a very good point about haye. The reason why haye is liked is cuz he wants the toughest of toughest fights and he has a bit of charisma, and he doesn't bang on about race....

Although, why would you pay to go and boo Amir Khan?

I won't even pay to boo him on the TV!

This will probably see me sail a little close to the wind, but shit like this is why people in the UK become racist. Seriously, when are Muslims opressed? They get fucking everythng in this country!

The guy is a millionaire in a country where fucking millions are now unemployed nd he's still fucking complaining. I hope Salita fucking crushes him.

Side note: I'm so glad I was there live to see Prescott kill him.

    Khan is a comic genius.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

I actually liked Kahn in the olmpics, I loved how a nipper from Britain was wiping the floor with his opponents, until he met Kindelan

I didnt think of race at all!! I support the fight in the daog not the dog in the fight

Whats put me off him is all his bullshiit, hes already been exposed by a mediocre puncher, hes also really got under my skin with his twaatish driving!! He overtakes a cue of traffic stopped on a red light, he overtakes them on the wrong side of the road and the reason the lights were red is becase it was a pedestrian crossing, right in Bolton city centre, he runs some poor bloke over called Hatton who has since died and then he gos and fuucks around in his BMW again.

This is probably racist but whenever im in England the vast majority of BMW drivers are Pakistani, they love em Mind you iv had an M3 and you cant blame em

Kahn is a cuunt waiting to be knocked out

If anybody doesn't think he'd be bigger if he was a white kid they're out to lunch. Its just facts.

That said its a bit rich coming from a guy with a bit of a silver spoon ever since he turned pro.
